Olivia Culpo has hit back being criticised by people for her alleged 'pick me' wedding look.

Now, in case you're not familiar with the turn of phrase, being a 'pick me' goes against pretty much every single principle of girl code and is commonly used to describe a woman who obsessively desires male approval and validation, sadly often at the expense of other women.

One woman, Jessica Weslie Arena, took to TikTok this week to share her thoughts on how the 32-year-old's makeup look for her wedding day was described in a recent Vogue article and it's caused quite the debate online.

The overlay text of the clip reads: "Olivia Culpo Vogue wedding article saying she's not wearing mascara, no eyebrow pencil, and no lip liner gives me pick me vibes."

In the video, Jess began: "I got pick me vibes immediately.

"Don't get me wrong, I love Olivia Culpo, but the fact that Vogue had to go in detail and say that Olivia Culpo is not wearing any mascara, no makeup on her eyebrows and no lip liner. Like, just gave me pick-me vibes."

Jess went on: "We know Olivia Culpo has a lash lift, like, please zoom in.

"The lashes are lifting, so obviously she's not going to be wearing any mascara.

"And then, if you look at her lips, there is something on her lips - either like a lip blush, a lipstick - like I don't care that she is not wearing lip liner."

She quipped: "Like, be so for real."

"The fact that they pointed out she doesn't have anything on her eyebrows, like an eyebrow pencil? Like, OK maybe that one is real, but for Vogue to even point these things out just gave me such weird vibes, because obviously Olivia Culpo did something in order to not wear mascara, in order to not wear lip liner, in order to not wear a pencil on her eyebrows."

The TikToker rounded off the video reiterating: "Be so for real Vogue.

"Stop being a pick me."

The video, which was only posted on Wednesday (3 July) has since racked up more than 378k views on the platform with hundreds upon hundreds of people rushing in to weigh in on Jess' comments.

While many agreed with Jess' sentiments, others rushed in to defend the model with one TikTok user writing: "She literally said she was doing a lash lift for the wedding recently hahahahahaha."

A second echoed: "Is she supposed to tell vogue how to write the article?"

Another added: "Her not doing those parts of a 'full face' is PART of the makeup look. She’s explaining how she achieved her look."

And, amidst the sea of commenters debating the matter, Olivia herself has since responded to Jess' video.

"It was an interview….." she commented under it: "they asked me what my makeup was……………………….."
