Norway star Erling Haaland ignored Tom Holland’s message for brutal reason

Just because you’re a Marvel movie star doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed a text back, as Tom Holland has come to realise.

The beloved British actor may be Spider-Man himself, but it turns out even a celebrity of his calibre gets ghosted now and again.

In this instance, it was Norwegian football sensation Erling Haaland, who has confessed that he accidentally blanked Holland after the actor slid into his DMs and invited him to dinner.

The striker who is leading Norway’s football team into the World Cup quarter finals this weekend shared the story during an interview with Norwegian talk show A-laget.

Asked about the incident, Haaland, 25, explained: "Yes, of course. This is a bit embarrassing, to be completely honest.

"We were in Monaco at the Formula 1, and then I got a message.

"I don't watch movies much, so I have no idea who people are. There was one asking if we could go out for dinner, but I'd never seen him, so I didn't bother to answer.

"I didn't want to answer an unknown person."

Of course, now the football star is kicking himself for not recognising Marvel’s own Peter Parker, telling the outlet: “I think I’ll have to send him a message now. I’d completely forgotten about it.”

Haaland is a little busy at the moment as Norway storm the World Cup this year, but perhaps once the FIFA competition wraps up, he’ll have a little more time to get dinner with Tom.

That being said, there could potentially be some tension between Holland and Haaland by the time they get to grab that bite, with

Norway set to face off against England in Miami this Saturday (11 July).

Whoever wins will play in next Wednesday's (15 July) semi-final in Atlanta, ahead of the final on Sunday (19 July) in New Jersey,

The athlete appears to be enjoying his time in the US so far, immersing himself in American culture during his time off the pitch.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Haaland documented his shopping trip in Texas, picking up a cowboy hat, a pair of cowboy boots, and a "You Can Kiss My Dallas" t-shirt.

After posting a photo of his new American getup to Instagram, Fox 4 reported a huge sales surge causing Wild Bill’s Western Store in Downtown Dallas to almost run out of stock of that particular T-shirt.
