Millie Bobby Brown defended after welcoming two children through adoption by 22
Fans of Millie Bobby Brown have jumped to the star's defence after critics questioned whether the 22-year-old is too young to have adopted two children.
The Stranger Things star and her actor husband, Jake Bongiovi, 24, confirmed yesterday (17 Sept) that they'd welcomed their second child together through adoption.
The couple the first glimpse of their new arrival on Instagram with a sweet snap showed their baby's tiny hand alongside Brown and Bongiovi's.
British actress Brown could be seen wearing a diamond-encrusted ring reading 'MOM'.

"Hi little guy!" the duo captioned the post.
As a reminder, Brown and Bongiovi are already parents to a daughter, whom they welcomed through adoption in August 2025.
And while plenty of fans were busy melting over the adorable update, others couldn't resist criticising the couple's decision to adopt again at their age.
One Reddit user argued that there should be age requirements around adoption, writing: "I just have a hard time seeing these two being able to actually raise children well at their young ages."
Another said they didn't 'care how she had the kid', but still believed Brown was 'too young to be allowed to adopt a second child'.
Thankfully, however, plenty of others were quick to defend the Hollywood pair, pushing back against the backlash.
"People will also criticize women for having children too late in life," one Reddit user wrote. "There is literally no winning."
Another pointed out what they saw as a contradiction in the way celebrities are discussed when it comes to starting families.
"Sooo yesterday Lena Dunham announced her baby via surrogacy and everyone was pissed she didn't adopt instead," they penned. "Now MBB has adopted and everyone is mad because she's… too young and rich?"
They went on to praise Brown for keeping her first child out of the spotlight, adding: "I'm sure she and her husband can handle this second child just fine."
Someone else simply wondered why strangers were so invested in the couple's family life either way.
"People need to stop paying close attention to everything these celebs do and just live their lives," they penned.
Another commenter admitted: "If I had her funds I'd be rescuing kids and animals too. We love you for this Millie!"
And one Reddit user pointed to the wider conversation around adoption and children in care.
"People are constantly talking about children in the foster system and how more people should adopt until someone you don't like adopts and suddenly it's 'rich people get what they want' [and] 'she's too young'."
While Brown's age has become a talking point online, the TV star has previously spoken about why the adoption process was something she'd wanted long before becoming a mum.
In a July interview with Jay Shetty, Brown revealed that adoption had 'always' been something she wanted to be part of her life, explaining that she had grown up with adopted friends.
She also studied social work for two years and later took courses about adoptive and birth mothers before she and Bongiovi began their own adoption journey.
The star described the process as 'long' and 'rightfully so', but said she would 'never forget' the moment the couple received the call about their girl.
"There are two ways to have a baby - one through your stomach and one through your heart," Brown claimed another adoptive mother had told her. "My girl was through my heart."
