Miley Cyrus fans are only just discovering her real name, with many having no idea that the name she goes by these days isn't her true moniker.
Miley, 33, rose to fame after appearing as Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel between 2006 and 2011.
She then went on to forge a hugely successful music career, bagging three Grammy Awards, three MTV VMAs and having a string of number one hits, including 'We Can't Stop', 'Wrecking Ball' and 'Flowers'.
Although most people know her as Miley Cyrus, it turns out that before 2008, Miley actually had a completely different name that she was given at birth.

Miley's mum, Tish, revealed that her daughter was actually originally named Destiny Hope, but legally changed her name 17 years ago.
During an appearance on the Tea Time with Raven & Miranda podcast, Tish said: "Billy Rae [Cyrus] came up with that [the Miley nickname]. She always smiled when she was little, so we would call her smiley Miley, and it just stuck."
People were pretty shocked online, with one writing on X: "I was today years old when I found out Miley Cyrusâs real name used to be Destiny Hope Cyrus before she legally changed it in 2008."

Another added: "Fun fact, Miley's real name was Destiny Hope Cyrus, she legally changed it tho."
While someone else wrote: "MILEY CYRUS REAL NAME IS DESTINY????"
Earlier this year, Miley spoke about her career and the truth behind her 'wild' era, circa 2013.
It was the year that she released songs like 'Wrecking Ball' and went viral for her infamous MTV VMAs performance with Robin Thicke, but she's since revealed the real impact it had on her personal life behind the scenes.

During an appearance on the Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky podcast, the star said: "It was really hard for me in 2013, and I lost everything during that time in my personal life, because of the choices I was making professionally.
"You know if I kept dressing and acting in a certain way, my relationships fell apart.
"No one wanted to date me because they didnât want to be with a woman whose sexual expression was not for them. It was like shared with the world.
"So when I would try to date guys, or when I was engaged, that didnât work out because I was sharing a part of myself that men wanted to be saved only for them."
