It's hardly surprising that Piers Morgan was one of the first to publicly respond to news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's return to the UK, given his prior beef with the Duchess.
Unfortunately, however, the controversial presenter's eight-word assessment of the situation hasn't gone down very well with a number of social media users, who've slammed him for his divisive attempt at humour.
For those in need of a reminder, Morgan's 'feud' with Meghan reportedly dates all the way back to 2016, when the pair connected on Twitter and supposedly met for drinks in London.
Piers and Meghan's feud 'explained'

Morgan later told the press they got on well, but claimed Meghan stopped responding to his messages after she began dating Prince Harry later that year.

Then, as the couple's relationship became public, the ex-ITV star went on to become one of the former Suits actress's most outspoken critics.
Their 'beef' reached a major flashpoint in 2021, following Harry and Meghan's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which they alleged severe mistreatment on behalf of several senior royals.
While presenting Good Morning Britain that week, Morgan said he did not believe the mother-of-two's claims about her mental health struggles and her experiences within the Royal Family, comments which sparked more than 50,000 Ofcom complaints.
A row with his co-presenter resulted in the Talk TV frontman resigning from his own responsibilities and infamously walking from the role while live on air.

Since then, Morgan has continued to publicly criticise Meghan and Harry, regularly discussing the couple on his shows and in his columns.
What did Morgan say about their UK return?
With the Sussexes now reportedly set to relocate in Harry's home country, spectators are expecting Piers' seemingly one-sided feud to intensify.
Shortly after this week's announcement hit international headlines, Morgan, 61, took to X (formerly Twitter), where he responded to PEOPLE's coverage, writing: "I may have to emigrate to the U.S."
The 'low blow' was undoubtedly aimed at the couple's apparent readiness to flee Britain for the States when tensions within the monarchy began to rise.
As we say, however, the remark has seemingly gotten under the skin of a number of the pair's fans, many of whom mocked him for busying himself with their business once again.

"And I'm sure wherever you go, you’ll STILL be talking about Harry & Meghan," one critic responded.
Another double-checked: "Really? Good grief."
"I’ll help you pack," a third pledged.
One also questioned Morgan, demanding: "That's how much you loathe them?"
Another rinsed
"Well, you had a massive hissy fit and migrated from your last presenting job, so," they wrote alongside a stream of laughing emojis.
A sixth added: "Bye bye. When hatred is what drives you, it would be a smart move."
Why are Meghan and Harry relocating?

The Telegraph were the first to confirm last night (19 Aug) that Harry and Meghan had plans to relocate to Britain later this summer, and had even enrolled their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, at UK schools.
The move comes six years after they abandoned their duties as senior royals and set up shop in Montecito, California, alleging Meghan had been 'bullied' from the position, and citing abuse from the British press.
The foursome will reportedly move to a private, non-royal residence outside of London.
Discussing the news this morning, royal expert Camilla Tominey alleged that a return was always on the cards for Meghan and Harry.
"Note how they’re keeping their California pad, just in case," she wrote in The Telegraph. "Half in, half out: it’s what they’ve always wanted.

"No wonder they are not taking an official royal role."
She added: "Far better to be able to cash in on your royal status without the 'men in grey' suits breathing down your brass neck."
