With Christmas now just a few days away, I'm sure many of us are cosying up on the sofa ready for our annual dose of Home Alone.
Home Alone is not only the perfect festive flick sure to get you in the Yuletide spirit, but it was the film that launched Macaulay Culkin's entire career after starring as lead, Kevin McCallister.
However, while many fans can quote word-for-word some of the iconic one-liners in the 1990 blockbuster hit, few actually know that the actor legally changed his name - and it's now absolutely baffling.
The Home Alone star had a bit of a crisis with whether or not he liked his middle name, telling followers of his website Bunny Ears he 'can't even remember it', but knows it's 'something dumb'.

Titled 'Macaulay Culkin Needs A New Middle Name,' the actor called out to fans to 'send in some better options' for him to take to the court house in order to 'change [his] middle name to something cool'.
Promising to go with the majority vote, Culkin soon revealed his 'favourite five' from the 'hundreds of suggestions' that had been sent in.
And the favourite suggestions were: Publicity Stunt, TheMcRibIsBack, Kieran, Shark Week and Macaulay Culkin.

Yes, people indeed suggested Macaulay Culkin for Macaulay Culkin's middle name.
With the voting open until Christmas Eve of that year, the actor reflected: "Sure, I might have gold plated watercraft, and chrome plated invisibility cloaks, but all I want for Christmas is a new middle name. And then you can be all 'Oh, you got your wife a beautiful portrait of your family? Well, I chose Macaulay Culkin’s Middle Name.' And they will cry and cry.
"Don’t be the kind of person who cries on Christmas. Be the kind of person that chooses my new middle name."
Of course, 'Macaulay Culkin' came out on top with 60,990 votes.

Keeping his word to his fans, Culkin took to Twitter to announce the results, writing: "Merry Christmas to me, from all of you!
"My new middle name has been chosen. You voted and the winner is clear.
"In 2019 my new legal name will be: Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.
"It has a nice ring to it (if you like my name)."
You may have been referring to the actor as simply Macaulay Culkin this festive season, but in doing so, you are missing out half of the actor's name - which has even since been updated on Wikipedia.

One fan, who took to Twitter yesterday (26 December), was shocked to have learnt the truth several years down the line.
They wrote: "Odd things I learned this Christmas. (a) Macaulay Carson Culkin, aka Kevin-alone-at-home, is now 42 years old and changed his middle name to Macaulay Culkin, so his legal name is now Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin."
It's a mouthful, but it's the thought of Culkin seeking his fan's advice and sticking by it that counts... right?
