Love Island star Davide Sanclimenti’s girlfriend Iris Au jailed for 18 months

Davide Sanclimenti’s girlfriend Iris Au has been jailed for 18 months after failing to declare millions of dollars in income on her tax returns.

The 31-year-old Love Island star has been dating the 37-year-old influencer since January 2025, following his explosive split from fellow Islander Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, who he won season eight of the reality TV show with.

Iris, who boasts more than 283,000 followers on Instagram, has admitted to one count of subscribing to a false tax return after agreeing to a plea deal in March 2025.

The social media star, who calls herself 'The Goddess', received more than $2.6 million (£1.95 million) linked to illicit funds which were generated by her ex-partner Adam Iza, a self-styled cryptocurrency businessman who calls himself 'The Godfather'.

On Monday (21 September), Iris, who is from Orange County, California, was sentenced to 18 months' jail time.

As well as the jail sentence, she has been ordered to pay $1.4million (£1million) in restitution and forfeit assets such as luxury cars, including a Mercedes-Benz GLS, Porsche 911 and a Ferrari 488 Pista, the Daily Mail reports.

Court documents accessed by the publication outline that she’s also had to part ways with some luxury handbags, including a whopping 14 Louis Vuitton bags, three Chanel bags, and products from other high-priced brands such as Prada, Dior, Hermes, and Gucci.

"I knew about her situation"

Ahead of the trial, Davide publicly vowed to stand by his girlfriend.

He told MailOnline in March 2025: “The truth is that I knew about her situation from the start which is why I was protecting her.

“Iris is an amazing person who has been through difficult situations that most people could never understand.”

Davide added: “There's so much of this extraordinary story that people don’t know yet. I will be there by her side to supply her as she deserves all the support and understanding.”

The day before she was sentenced, Iris said on Instagram: “I made mistakes, serious mistakes, and I take responsibility for them. Davide stayed beside me, my family stayed beside me. Whatever happens next, it's a chapter. It's not the end of my story.”

Sharing that she would 'be going to court to face the consequences' of her actions, she added: "My kids are my whole world. I want them to see that when you make mistakes, you don't let them become who you are. You own them, you learn, you grow, and you keep going."

Davide wrote in the comments: “I know how much you’ve suffered and you never deserved any of this. I’m proud of how strong you’ve been through everything, you gave me strength too… and I really believe there’s so much light and good ahead for you. You’ll come out of this even stronger.”

Au helped her ex 'conceal millions in fraud proceeds'

Prosecutors said that the influencer wilfully failed to declare over $2.6 million (£1.96 million) that was transferred into her personal accounts between 2020 and 2023 to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the US tax service.

They said: “[She] set up the financial infrastructure that enabled Adam Iza to move, spend, and conceal millions of dollars in fraud proceeds while she personally benefited from the wealth.

“Au concealed entities and income from her tax preparer and filed returns reporting only a small fraction of what she had actually received.

“Those were affirmative acts designed to prevent the IRS from learning the true extent of her income.”

The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Percy Anderson, while Christopher Darden, who was a co-prosecutor in the OJ Simpson murder trial, defended Iris.

Iza pleaded guilty in January 2025 to one count of conspiracy against rights, one count of wire fraud, and one count of tax evasion.

He is due to be sentenced next month, and is currently serving a 15-year prison term for an attempted robbery of Bitcoin and a kidnapping back in 2024.
