Leonardo DiCaprio has landed himself in hot water for attending the lavish wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez.
The lavish nuptials are making headlines thanks to the star-studded guestlist, as well as a series of gaffes with location and a list of no-shows being leaked.
The three-day wedding took place in Venice and was reported to have cost millions of dollars, which is of course small change for multi-billionaire Jeff Bezos.
A-listers including DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Oprah Winfrey and more were in attendance, but social media users have shared their anger at what they are calling the hypocrisy of some of the celebs.

Referencing paparazzi photos which show Leo attempting to hide his face with a cap, one wrote: "Do you think he’s trying to hide his face because he’s always said he’s an environmentalist but he’s at Jeff Bezos wedding?"
"Why is Leonardo DiCaprio still pretending to be this Hollywood climate activist and then he goes to Jeff Bezos’ wedding?" accused another.

Another fumed: "So you all know. The private jets that just went and left #bezoswedding put more of a carbon footprint on the planet than you and your entire family of 12 could do in 5,000 years. So, if Leo and his Ilk ever preach to you again, tell him and his friends to go f**k themselves."

One TikTok commenter wrote: "Leo preaching about the planet dying but hangs out with a billionaire who is killing the planet?"
In 2019, Amazon said it produced 51.17 million metric tons of CO2, more than the total emissions of Switzerland, Hong Kong and Denmark.
Since then, it has increased its sustainability efforts, and claimed that in 2023 100 percent of the electricity used by the company was matched by renewable energy sources.
DiCaprio has been vocal with his thoughts on climate change and has regularly spoken out to raise awareness.

When he won his first Oscar in 2016, he made a plea during his speech for everyone to 'work together' to combat climate change.
In April of the same year, he gave a speech at the UN Paris Agreement signing.

He told the audience that 'our planet cannot be saved unless we leave fossil fuels in the ground where they belong.'

DiCaprio has said that he works with an organisation called Future Forests, which works to offset his annual 11-ton carbon footprint.
However, many critics believe his footprint is much higher than this in reality.
Bezos is said to have sent 90 private jets out for his wedding guests, though it is unclear if DiCaprio travelled on one.
This isn't the first time Leo has faced criticism for his actions versus his words.

The actor also came under fire back in 2022 for using a private jet to fly 8,000 miles from Cannes to New York City, to pick up an award from a clean water advocacy group.
According to Page Six, the Revenant star was ironically being awarded for his environmental work at the Riverkeeper Fishermen's Ball.
He then reportedly flew back to Cannes 24 hours later to attend an AIDS benefit gala.
QZ alleges that in 2014, DiCaprio took six private jet flights in six weeks, which they calculated to have generated up to 44 tons of carbon if they were commercial flights, but private flights are thought to generate up to 37 times more.
He is also a fan of using a private yacht, which also racks up the carbon footprint according to the Daily Mail.
Tyla has contacted a representative for Leonardo DiCaprio for a comment.
