Tristan Thompson has shared his shocking response after Khloé Kardashian asked him about his cheating scandal.

Reality TV star Khloé, 41, and basketball player Thompson, 35, began dating in 2016.

In April 2018, just days before Khloé gave birth to their daughter True, footage surfaced allegedly showing Tristan cheating with multiple women in New York.

They stayed together for a while, but split in February 2019 after reports claimed Tristan kissed Jordyn Woods at a house party. The drama blew up partly because Jordyn was Kylie Jenner’s best friend at the time.

Khloé and Tristan later reconciled during lockdown in 2020, only for another scandal to hit in December 2021 when Tristan admitted he had fathered a child with Maralee Nichols while still involved with Khloé. Since then, they’ve stayed separated romantically but continue co-parenting their two children, True and Tatum.

Speaking on the most recent episode of the Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, Khloé shared her thoughts on the whole ordeal.

"I more get sick and tired of the commentary. I don't love what happened. I'm not saying that, but it all happened for the greater good," she said.

"I really do think so. For whatever reason, it was meant to happen, not the cheating part, but you and I weren't meant to end up together.

"You and I were meant to have these beautiful kids. We're great co-parenters. You're a great present dad. I'm grateful for so much of what we have now."

She then posed a question to Tristan, asking him: "When a man says, 'I'm not proud of what I've done', do you have that realisation when you're doing it, or do you discover that later?"

"No, later. Not in the moment," Tristan replied.

"But like, how much later? Like, once you're caught? Or do you feel that way when you're done doing it?" Khloé said, attempting to clarify Tristan's no-hesitation response.

"Like post-nut syndrome," he said to Khloé's unamused reaction, prompting him to apologise: "Sorry, my bad, that was a little too vulgar."

"Then why do you keep redoing it?" Khloé asked.

"That's a trillion-dollar question," Tristan explained. "I don't know, I mean, I can't speak for other people.

"For myself, I think life was moving very quickly for me at the time when we were together. I probably didn't do the best job of navigating my truth about where I was at, and maybe just, honestly, probably just a little case of being young and wanting your cake and eating it too.

"It was just a lot going on in life at the time for me.

"So I'm not proud of it, of course not, but like you said, sometimes we need a wake-up call, and unfortunately, you know, you never want good people to fall to the sort of that."

"Have you ever thought about what you're going to say if and when, because the when will happen, when your kids ask you, like, what happened between us?" Khloé continued.

Tristan replied: "I've definitely thought about that.

"I think it just depends on which age we have this conversation. I think it's more leading by just being accountable, and it depends on the age bracket of wherever they were at and dive into it how I see fit, but I think the most important thing is accountability."

"I mean, you just have to be honest. That's all, kids, really want," Khloé said before Tristan agreed, adding 'and love'.

When asked by someone off-camera if they thought things 'would have been different' if they met 'later in life', Tristan shared: "Yeah definitely.

"I always tell people I think it's the right person, wrong time."

"If I were the age I am now or even a couple of years before, would our world look different? Probably so, I guess things happen for a reason," he continued as Khloé chimed in: "That they do."

"And you never know how life happens, you know, maybe like who knows..." Tristan went on before Khloé stopped him with a firm response: "No, I think we know. I think we know."
