It turns out there was much more drama behind the scenes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians than viewers ever saw.
A former producer on the hit reality TV show claims a heated confrontation involving Kanye West, his then-wife Kim Kardashian, and her mother, Kris Jenner, was cut from an episode during the show's final season.
The same TV boss alleged that the 30-minute altercation offered a telling glimpse into the state of Kardashian and West's marriage, which would ultimately come to an end just months later.
For those who need a reminder, the SKIMS boss, now 45, and the rap star, 49, tied the knot in 2014 and went on to welcome four children together, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

However, their relationship became increasingly strained in the years leading up to their separation, with West's mental health struggles and public controversies placing their marriage under intense scrutiny.

The rapper was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016, and his behaviour became a growing concern in 2020, when he launched a presidential campaign and made a series of controversial public statements.
Kardashian later opened up about the difficulties she faced during their marriage, including during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast last year, when she admitted to struggling with the way he spoke about her loved ones, especially her children's grandmother and aunts.
"I'm happy it's over," she said of her divorce from West. "My ex will be in my life no matter what. We have four kids together."
Now, a previously unreleased moment from the former couple's relationship has come to light.
According to former producer Farnaz Farjam, the confrontation took place on 28 October 2020, when the family gathered at Kardashian's ex-stepfather Caitlyn Jenner's home to celebrate her birthday.

In an excerpt from journalist Jonathan Van Meter's forthcoming biography Citizen Kim, published by The Cut, Farjam recalled West confronting his wife's family over his presidential campaign.
Apparently, he aggressively questioned both Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, about their lack of support for his political ambitions.
Farjam says the 'Stronger' star had started 'ripping into Kris and the family' and questioning them about not voting for him, adding that he had made the occasion all about himself.
Farjam described the exchange as a significant moment in the couple's deteriorating relationship.
"That whole 30-minute battle was very telling," he said, before confirming that the footage had to be edited out.
Instead, viewers saw a different emotional moment from Kardashian in the episode, which aired on 28 October 2020.

The SKIMS founder was filmed breaking down in tears while speaking to her sisters Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner about the state of her marriage.
"I just honestly can't do this anymore," she said in the scene, admitting she felt like a failure as her relationship fell apart.
Kardashian also acknowledged that she and West wanted different things from their marriage, explaining that he deserved a wife who could support his every move and travel with him.
The star filed for divorce in February 2021, and their separation was finalised in November 2022.
Since then, Kardashian has gradually opened up about the relationship, including the ways in which Kanye shaped her life and career.
In Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, published by The Cut, the mother-of-four reflected on how her former husband helped transform her public image, particularly when it came to fashion.

She suggested that West had fallen in love with the idea of her as someone whose image he could help reshape, rather than simply who she was.
"I realise that he loves, like, a project, right? I think he really fell in love with the idea of me, and the project behind it all.
"He loves things that maybe aren't cool and 'I'm going to make them cool.'
"Whether it's, like, 'I'm going to stop rapping and do a whole singing album, like 808s (& Heartbreak).' And everyone's like, 'How could you not rap? It's blasphemy!' And then it's the best album."
Kardashian went on to suggest that West saw her reality TV background as something he could help change people's perceptions of.
"I think he's like, 'Let me be with a reality star. No one respects it. I'm going to show you how cool it is'," she continued. "He changed my life. He absolutely changed my life."

Kardashian - who has been in a relationship with F1 star Lewis Hamilton for the last few months - also credited her ex-husband with encouraging her to learn more about fashion, explaining that she initially knew very little about the industry.
"I just didn't know anything about high fashion," she confessed. "There were all these fashion books piled up. It was time to get to work and learn. He gave me so much confidence."
