Fans have slammed Katie Price over her nine-year-old daughter Bunny's World Book Day costume.

Now, I'm sure many of us can remember those golden days at school when, for one day a year, we could rock up dressed as our favourite fictional character.

World Book Day, celebrated on the first Thursday of March, is a charity event all about helping to change lives through a love of books and reading where every child in full-time education in the UK and the Republic of Ireland is provided with a voucher to be spent on books.

Katie has since come under criticism for Bunny's costume after posting her outfit to her 2.6 million followers on Instagram.

Bunny could be seen dressed up as her mum - taking inspo from one of her 2004 I'm A Celeb looks - in a red top and camo trousers with a kangaroo-stamped cork hat to finish the ensemble.

The mum-of-five captioned the post: "Well you can’t deny her mum has written 54 books so can’t deny I’m a successful author hence Bunny dressing up as me in the jungle for national book day."

Some people were not happy with Katie Price's snaps of Bunny on World Book Day.

It was only a matter of time before the avalanche of comments from people unhappy with the snap started to pile up with some accusing the reality TV star of allegedly using a filter on Bunny's face.

One Instagram user hit out: "Why have you completely changed your child’s face with an app? Disturbing."

A second questioned: "Oh why would you use a filter on a stunning baby?"

"Why have you face-apped her Katie?" asked a third, while a fourth quipped: "Successful author... Well she certainly has a sense of humour."

With that said, however, not everyone was as outraged as a few found Bunny's get-up quite endearing.

Others, however, loved Bunny's costume.

"Aww her mumma is her hero," gushed one fan.

Another praised: "Aww that’s brilliant, she looks great!"

"Go Bunny!" championed a final Instagram user.

Tyla has reached out to Katie Price's representatives for comment.

Katie recently opened up about her real name and revealed what she reckons is the one thing people most misjudge her for.

"I think people think I’m proper damaged goods," she said on Guardian restaurant critic Grace Dent's Comfort Food podcast. "But I would say I’m a survivor. I’ve had a colourful life, but the sad thing is a lot of people these days, they know Katie Price, but they don’t know my Jordan days."

Katie continued: "And I don’t think a lot of people realise I’ve done a hell of a lot in my life, seen a lot, good things, worked a lot, but I’m still humble and down to earth."
