Donald Trump’s granddaughter has spoken out about the public judging her because of her surname.
Kai Trump, 18, is the US president’s eldest granddaughter. Born in 2007, her parents are Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, and she was named after her great-grandfather, Danish jazz musician Kai Ewens. However she gets far more attention because of her last name.
She has been building a growing profile as a social media influencer, as well as playing golf.
Kai addressed the reactions she gets online because of her family name during an interview on the Impaulsive podcast hosted by Logan Paul.

“Some people don’t like me. I mean 50% of the world doesn’t like me because of my last name,” she claimed. “But like, they don’t actually know me. So, like, I’m hoping if people actually give me a shot and like not look at like the last name, then I won’t have any ops - but we’ll see.”
Paul then asked: “Are people screaming sh*t at you?”

Kai recounted an encounter she had with a member of the public in real life. “One time I was out in public and someone literally walked up to me that my grandpa sucks.”
The interview divided opinion, with some social media users defending Kai against scrutiny. “Okay she didn’t choose her grandpa what exactly do you want her to say to that?”
While another account wrote: “Yeah, nobody should harass you because of your last name. And it’s not your fault your grandfather is the worst president in American history.”
Other users were more critical. One person said: “Forgive me for not feeling bad for Nepo grand baby Kai Trump”
Another social media user shared: “And lots of doors open for you because of your last name, poor little rich girl.”
Kai opened up on the same podcast about how she has no interest in politics.
“To be honest with you, I stay out of politics completely. I’d never run [for President]. I don’t want anything to do with politics because I feel like politics is such a dangerous thing.
“I think if both sides met in the middle everyone would be so much happier,” she added.

“There’s a radical left, radical right, there’s a lot of people who get too extreme," saying she is in the middle.
She also raised eyebrows after vlogging from the Oval Office. The vlog in question was posted last week on 25 October to Kai's YouTube channel, which now boasts 1.48 million subscribers. The video is titled 'I Went to the Ryder Cup With My Grandpa (POTUS)'.
"I had the best time going to the Ryder Cup with my grandpa - come along for the behind-the-scenes of this special trip!" the 18-year-old wrote in the video's description.
At one point during the 28-minute vlog, can be seen sitting on a sofa in the Oval Office telling the camera: "So, grandpa is still in meetings. I'm just chilling in the Oval Office scrolling on TikTok.
