They might have parted ways seven years ago, but it seems Justin Bieber still harbours some hostility towards ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.
Taking to Instagram last night, the Canadian singer shared a cryptic video on his story, which was later interpreted by fans as a quip at the expense of the Only Murders In The Building actress.
For those in need of a reminder, the former flames famously split back in early 2018 after seven years together - though, the latter few seemed somewhat on-again-off-again.
In the years that followed, whilst Bieber, 31, went on to wed model and socialite Hailey Baldwin - with whom he now shares a seven-month-old son named Jack Blues - Gomez dated a stream of fellow big-name stars.

The former Disney Channel star is said to have endured brief romances with the likes of Zedd, Charlie Puth, Drew Taggart and Zayn Malik. She was also in a relationship with The Weeknd for several months following his split from Bella Hadid.
In 2023, however, Gomez, 32, went public with long-term friend, musician Benny Blanco.
And following several years of loved-up bliss, the pair announced their engagement in December of last year.
In a collection of sweet photos captioned 'forever begins now...', the former Wizards of Waverley Place star could be seen enjoying a picnic of Taco Bell products, donning a jaw-dropping new marquise diamond ring.
"Hey wait… that’s my wife," 37-year-old Blanco penned at the time.
Whilst Bieber initially remained quiet about the news that his long-term ex was getting hitched to someone new in the months that followed, fans believe he has responded to the engagement this week
Although, if he has, he's done so very shadily.
Taking to social media on Wednesday (2 Apr), the 'Baby' hit-maker shared a video of the Lord of The Rings character Gollum - a Stoor Hobbit of the River-folk made famous in the film franchise by voice actor Andy Serkis.
In the video, the hideous creature can be seen reaching out for a ring, mouthing his signature catchphrase, 'My precious'.
The meme shared by Bieber was captioned, 'Girls on social media when they get engaged'.
And whilst the musician never explicitly linked the post to his ex-girlfriend, some fans believe the bizarre post can and should be interpreted as poking fun at Gomez and Blanco's sweet news.
"He's been married for 8 years and has a child at home to take care of, but still shading his ex on insta story....." one hit out on X (formerly Twitter) in the hours following the upload.
"ironically he’s also shading his own wife too," another pointed out as a third added, "Hailey literally never misses a chance to show off her engagement ring."
Another went on to note: "Justin is shading his wife in the sense that why does his ex(es) have to occupy his mind???
"He should only have his own wife on his mind!!"
A fifth added: "Justin Bieber going crazy because of Selena’s engagement?? Karma is real."
"JUSTIN Bieber a 31, married and father is bragging about f*kn his ex. i refuse to believe selena gomez is the problem," another continued.
Another went on: "justin bieber going crazy over selena gomez engagement wasn’t in my 2025 bingo card."
