After welcoming her newborn twins severely prematurely earlier this month, Jesy Nelson has opened up about her 'heartbreaking' experience for the very first time.
The 33-year-old former Little Mix star announced her babies' births on 18 May, revealing the pair were 'fighting strong' despite arriving two months earlier than expected.
In the weeks prior, Jesy revealed that her twins had been diagnosed with a rare and sometimes fatal condition whilst in the womb.

The musician was informed in March that the duo were suffering with pre-stage TTTS - Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome - which sees the babies sharing one placenta, feeding off the same blood vessels, as opposed of their own.
Jesy underwent surgery for the potentially life-threatening condition back in April, subsequently going on to share the 'amazing' news that 'the TTTS has cleared up' - though her pregnancy was still being considered high-risk.
The 'Boyz' singer revealed last week that she and partner Zion Foster had welcomed their twins - two baby girls - exceedingly early as a result.

She penned online at the time: "So… Our beautiful baby girls decided to come at 31weeks plus 5 days.
"It all happened so quickly, but we are so blessed that they are here with us, healthy and fighting strong! We’ve never felt more in love."
Jesy also revealed the names she and Zion had chosen for their newborns, adding: "Everybody meet Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster. Born on 15.05.2025."
Since her first announcement, fans of the British star have been awaiting an update on both Jesy's health, and that of her twins - and taking to Instagram last night (25 May), she provided one.

"Nothing or no one will ever be able to prepare you as a parent for NICU," she captioned a photo of herself holding her newborn daughters.
Jesy went on to describe not being able to protect her babies as the 'most scary overwhelming feeling of emotions.'
She added: "Naturally as a mother you just want to hold them and comfort them when they cry but you can't because there are what feels like a million wires coming out of them.

"Tubes and masks in the way with people poking and prodding them, it breaks your heart into a million pieces."
The X Factor alum went on to describe the slow removal of hospital wires and the strengthening of her babies as 'like a dream.'
"Having them reunited for the first time ever today was the most magical feeling I will never be able to describe," she continued.
"The strongest little girls I've ever known who really do have the most inspiring story to tell."

It didn't take long for Jesy's comments to be flooded with support from fans and fellow stars.

One fan gushed of their own ICU experience: "I am NICU mummy so can relate it really is a tough journey..
"Our babies are fighters & stronger than we think, each milestone they meet on the journey to be able to go home is so special."
Another wrote in agreement: "NICU babies are the strongest babies. It makes you appreciate every single tiny milestone so much more."
