Jesy Nelson has issued an urgent appeal after revealing that her car, which contained vital medical equipment for her twin daughters, had been stolen.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday evening (19 Apr), the Little Mix alum claimed her black Defender, with the registration plate JJ73 SSY, had been driven from her Brentwood, Essex home in the early hours of the morning.
Nelson, 34, wrote: "I have so much of my girls’ hospital equipment in that car that’s really needed. Please, if any of you have seen or know of any information can you DM me or contact the police."
The musician welcomed her daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, in January 2025 with her now-ex partner, Zion Foster.
The singer shared her appeal on social media (Instagram/@jesynelson) During her pregnancy, Nelson disclosed that the twins had been diagnosed with pre-stage TTTS (twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome) - a condition that sees twins sharing one placenta, as well as a network of blood vessels that supply both oxygen and nutrients.
Two months after their birth, Ocean and Story were diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) - a rare genetic condition that causes progressive muscle wastage.
At the time, she described 'the most gruelling three, four months and endless appointments' leading up to the gut-punching news.
"It does affect every muscle in the body, down to legs, arms, breathing, swallowing," the singer explained, adding that both of her girls had struggled to feed properly or move their legs freely since birth.
Nelson welcomed her twins in January 2025 (Instagram/@jesynelson) Nelson also confirmed she'd learned from Great Ormond Street Hospital doctors that her daughters would 'probably never going to be able to walk', adding: "They probably will never regain their neck strength, so they will be disabled."
Since then, however, Nelson has been a vocal advocate for increased awareness for the condition.
She launched a petition for the condition to be included in the newborn blood spot screening test ('heel prick test'), which quickly racked up over 100,000 signatures.
Earlier this month, the 'Boyz' singer also discussed the moving forward of SMA screenings in the UK from January 2027 to October 2026.
"We need to keep pushing to make sure every baby has the opportunity to have this heel prick test at birth," Nelson urged at the time.
