We all love a meet-cute but what if the 'how we met' story ended up more slightly more bizarre than romantic?

Peter Andre, 50, and his wife wife Emily MacDonagh first tied the know back in 2015 and have since announced the exciting pregnancy news of their third child on Instagram yesterday (12 October).

The couple already share two children - nine-year-old Amelia and Theo, six, and are clearly over-the-moon about the latest upcoming addition to their growing family.

While many fans were overjoyed about the news, far less actually know that the expecting pair first met in the most unusual circumstances.

Peter and Emily, 34, shared the news to their followers with a selfie holding up the baby scans, captioning the post: "We are delighted to share the news with you all. A new addition to our family in 2024."

"The kids are so excited," they added with four black heart emojis, before concluding: "So are we."

So, after eight or so years of marriage, two kids and a third on the way - many of us will be left wondering how the reality TV star first crossed paths with the NHS doctor.

Rewind to 2010 when the 'Mysterious Girl' singer had to undergo emergency surgery in Cornwall to treat his kidney stones.

Peter, who was 36 at the time, became acquainted with his urologist consultant, Dr Ruaraidh MacDonagh.

After meeting Dr MacDonagh, Peter was later introduced to his daughter - medical student Emily who was just 20 at the time.

"It’s the most bizarre thing," the father-of-five, who shares two previous children with ex Katie Price, acknowledged. "I had to have an emergency operation on a kidney in Taunton.

"I wasn’t even in the area but I was transferred there and the on-call consultant was Emily’s dad."

Opening up about the slightly odd first encounter, Peter revealed: "I was so grateful that I said, 'if there’s anything I can ever do…'

"I later got him a couple of tickets for the Plymouth show, but he couldn’t make it so his wife Rebecca came along with their daughter, Emily."

During the event, Peter said he had 'a bit of a laugh' with Rebecca and Emily and thought they were 'really nice people'.

"As time went on," he continued, "Emily and I realised we had feelings for each other and two years after meeting at Plymouth Pavilions we were married."

The pair kept their relationship fairly private until 2012 when Emily appeared on Peter's reality show.

Two years later, they welcomed little Amelia and flash-forward another couple years in 2016, their son Theo was born with baby number three now currently on the way.
