Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez have unfollowed each other on social media and everyone's saying the same thing

Eagle-eyed social media users have spotted Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez unfollowing one another on Instagram, and one aspect of the celebrity gossip has seemingly caused quite a stir.

The revelation was made by a fan last night, who'd seemingly searched 'Selena' in Rhode boss Hailey's followers, and the same for 'Hailey' in the former Disney star's list.

When neither appeared, the blindsided fan immediately took to X (formerly Twitter), breaking the news: "SELENA GOMEZ AND HAILEY BIEBER HAVE UNFOLLOWED EACHOTHER."

For those in need of a reminder of the pair's relationship, as well as both boasting multiple million followers online, they have one other thing in common - they both dated the same guy, Justin Bieber.

If you couldn't have guessed by her surname, model Hailey has been married to the Canadian singer since 2018, following several years of on-again, off-again relationships.

The huge-name couple tied the knot during an official ceremony in New York, which was followed closely by a religious service at the Somerset Chapel at the Montage Palmetto Bluff in North Carolina.

And in August of last year, the Biebers welcomed their first child together - a son named Jack Blues.

In the years prior, Hailey was said to have been involved with another Canadian singer, Shawn Mendes, while Justin had famously dated the Wizards of Waverly Place actress.

Despite it having been almost a decade since Justin and Selena called it a day, she and Hailey have long been rumoured to have beef behind the scenes - though neither party have ever actually hinted at this.

As we say, however, the news that the pair have since unfollowed one another on Instagram has left a number of fans wondering the same thing.

Why on earth did the pair follow each other in the first place?!

"I'm more surprised that they ever followed each other," one admitted, as another noted: "This is how I'm finding out that they were following each other."

A third asked: "I wonder who unfollowed who first and why did they unfollow each other is the question!"

A fourth suggested: "Oh we was tired of them pretending to like each other," while someone else questioned: "Why was Selena even following her in the first place lol."

The move is somewhat surprising, given in recent years, Hailey and Selena have interacted more and more with each other's online content, having increasingly 'liked' one another's Instagram posts, including the model appearing to like Gomez's announcement of her engagement to Benny Blanco.
