Reality TV fans have been left stunned after discovering that England midfielder Elliot Anderson has a famous brother.
The 23-year-old from Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, has quickly become one of football’s biggest rising stars - playing as a midfielder, Anderson has become an important part of England’s squad.
But away from the pitch, his family has a surprising connection to reality TV.
Elliot’s older brother, Wil Anderson, appeared on Love Island in 2024, where he became known to viewers during the show’s 11th series. Many fans only recently realised the link between the England star and the Islander.

Wil, a former quantity surveyor, entered as a bombshell and coupled up with model Uma Jammeh.

On day 37, when Wil was dumped from the island, the two solidified their relationship and left viewers in shock when Uma dramatically decided to leave the famous Mallorca villa with him.
Wil has flown out to support Elliot in the World Cup, saying it's 'surreal' to see him playing for the national team.
As well as being a reality TV star, Wil is actually a professional boxer and has helped Elliot train in the past.
Elliot told Newcastle United in 2024: "Last year, [I was] maybe a bit unfit in my eyes, so I went in the off-season and trained hard with my brothers [Wil and Louis].

"That's impacted me quite a lot and obviously some of the goals I've scored in pre-season have come from fitness, so I think it's stuff like that and being in the gym that helps you on the pitch."
Fans were shocked to learn the family connection. In response to a selfie of Wil and Uma together, a fan wrote: “This being Elliot Anderson’s brother kills me.”
Another fan commented: “No way is that Elliot Anderson’s brother. Uma you’re a legend.”
A third shared: “I’m still not over the fact that Uma's bf Wil from love island his brother is ELLIOT ANDERSON ON THE ENGLISH TEAM AND NOW MOST EXPENSIVE ENGLISH PLAYER like sorry what and the fact that Wil was the famous brother originally OMDS.”

Love Island fans were delighted in July 2025 after Wil and Uma announced they were engaged, just over a year after their romance began on the ITV reality show.
The couple revealed the news on 14 July 2025, with Uma sharing photos of her engagement ring and telling fans they had been 'sitting on' a big secret. Wil later confirmed the engagement, joking that he had 'put a ring on it' in the comments of Uma’s post.
The engagement came after a dramatic Love Island journey. Their relationship continued away from the cameras, eventually leading to the couple taking their next step together.
Shortest Love Island UK stints
We’ve seen hundreds of Love Island contestants grace our screens over the 13 seasons that have aired since 2015, some more fleeting than others. Here are some of the shortest appearances in Love Island history…
Shannon Singh - three days
Many had high hopes when season seven contestant Shannon entered the villa back in 2021, as she quickly became a fan favourite and coupled up with Aaron Francis.
However, that quickly came crashing down when none other than Chloe Burrows rocked up and was tasked to pick a boy to recouple with.
Chloe ended up choosing Aaron, leading to Shannon being brutally dumped on day three.
Chuggs Wallis - two days

Season two bombshell Chuggs joined the show on day four alongside Liam Reardon. He failed to recouple with any of the girls and then Rachel Finni chose Brad McClelland over him, resulting in Chuggs being sent home.
Despite this, he managed to make an appearance on Love Island: All Stars in 2025, however, he was dumped after seven days.
Georgia Townend - two days

Georgia, another season seven star, stepped into the villa on day 23 and had her eyes set on Hugo Hammond.
Unfortunately, there was no connection between them, which led to her being booted off after a couple of days.
Ben Porter and Poppy Farnan - one day

If you cast your mind all the way back to season one then you might remember Ben and Poppy’s short but sweet time on Love Island.
They arrived not long before the season ended, failing to make a mark on the fellow islanders and ultimately getting dumped after less than 24 hours.
Oliver Maxwell Fernandez - one day

Perhaps one of the least memorable Love Island contestants of all time is season two’s Oliver.
He arrived at the villa on day 30 but after failing to turn any heads, the girls sent him packing just a day later.
Malia Arkian - less than a day
While Malia takes the crown for the shortest time on Love Island, her appearance is certainly one to remember.
In season two, she entered the villa on day seven, taking Scott Thomas on a date. However, the move didn’t sit well with Kady McDermott, who was coupled up with Scott.
The pair ended up coming to blows when Malia accused Kady of spilling a drink on her, leading to one of the most explosive moments in the show’s history and Malia’s swift removal from the villa.
