Ahead of the release of Victoria Beckham's upcoming Netflix documentary, fans have been reflecting on the alleged affair that almost irreparably rocked her relationship with husband David 20 years ago.
Romance is understood to be one of the core themes of the fashion designer's latest project, with the limited series said to give fans a never-before-seen insight into she and the footballer's most exhilarating highs, many of which were fuelled by her own professional endeavours.
Speaking to ELLE recently in a bid to promote the flick, Victoria claimed her titular three-part doc would focus on relationship change specifically.

"So often in relationships, one will say to the other, 'You’ve changed'. Well, of course you’ve changed!" the mother-of-four told the magazine. "You’re a different person when you’re 20 than when you’re 50."
Whilst Victoria Beckham promises to pay particular attention to the 'best bits' of long-term romance, the power-couple recently bore all when it came to the roughest patches. And in Beckham - another tell-all Netflix doc released two years prior - they touched on decades-long allegations of infidelity on sportsman David's part.
For those in need of a reminder, back in 2004, Rebecca Loos - who was working as the footballer's assistant at the time following his transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid - claimed she and David had enjoyed a brief, four-month affair behind Victoria's back.

At the time, the athlete's team dismissed Loos' claims, releasing a statement to press in response: "During the past few months I have become accustomed to reading more and more ludicrous stories about my private life," David claimed.
"What appeared this morning is just one further example. The simple truth is that I am very happily married and have a wonderful wife and two very special kids.
"There is nothing any third party can do to change this."

That said, however, the sportsman's representatives opted not to legally challenge her claims, leading Loos to maintain that the affair did occur - more recently, in an appearance on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, as well as during a 60 Minutes Australia interview.
Despite never having since given a public, legal comment on the matter, Beckham saw David admit in 2023 he 'doesn't know' how he and his wife 'got through' the damning affair accusations.
"Victoria's everything to me," he went on to gush. "To see her hurt was incredibly difficult. But, we're fighters.
"And at that time, we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for."

'Posh Spice' herself also addressed the rocky period of her marriage describing it as the 'hardest' time for the pair.
Despite failing to reference Loos specifically, Victoria added an explanation at the time: "Because it felt like the world was against us. And here's the thing: we were against each other, if I'm being completely honest."
This isn't to say, however, that the couple haven't attempted to keep the past behind them.

In 2018, Victoria told British Vogue people had been 'making things up' about her marriage 'for 20 years'.
"So, David and I are pretty used to ignoring the nonsense and just carrying on as normal," the former musician continued. "But these things have a wider effect on the people around us, and that's unfair."
She added at the time that she and her husband have since both realised 'we are stronger together than we are as individuals'.
"Would either of us be in the position that we are in now had we not met and been together all those years ago?" Victoria continued.
"It's all about the family unit."
