Christina Applegate has revealed that her MS diagnosis has made her 'operate a little bit differently' after her daughter Sadie Grace made a sad admission.
The Anchorman star is continuing to balance her acting career alongside her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis, which she received in 2021.
Applegate has been incredibly open about her condition as a means of dispelling taboos relating to the chronic condition, as well as raising awareness of both the most common and most obscure symptoms.

However, she has also revealed that her health condition has made her change the way she parents her 13-year-old daughter, Sadie Grace, who Applegate shares with her husband, Martyn LeNoble.
Not only that, but the actor revealed that Sadie had picked up on one change in particular.

Speaking with People, she said: "Dancing with her every day. Picking her up from school every day. Working at her school, working in the library.

"Being present out of the house, out of my bed. She doesn't see those things anymore. This is a loss for her as well. And we're both learning as we're going along."
Applegate later revealed on her podcast, MeSsy, that Sadie had commented how 'mean' she'd been since her diagnosis.
"Sadie said 'You've just been mean since you've got MS', which of course I'm mean. I'm mad." she said. "I'm not mean I just think I operate a little bit differently now."
In her interview with People, the Dead to Me star said Sadie has had to witness 'the loss of her mom' due to her MS diagnosis, noting that when she sees her laying on her side, she 'she can't ask me to do anything'.

"And that breaks me, breaks me," she added. "Because I love doing stuff for my kid. I love making her food. I love bringing it to her. I love all of it, and I just can't sometimes. But I try. I try."
"It's heartbreaking when you have to say to your kid, 'I can't.' It's like the worst feeling in the world as a mother." Applegate continued.

"You're their protector in life. When you have to say, 'I can't,' it rips your soul apart. I freak out about it every day."

However, while certain things, like driving, can be intimidating to Applegate, she still wants to do whatever she can for her child, recalling one instance where she had no choice but to drive Sadie to school, which was 25 minutes away.
"I haven't driven that far in three years", she said (via People). "I haven't driven more than eight minutes. Because I'm afraid. I'm scared. But this particular morning, it was just the two of us, and she was in the car, with her hand holding on, and she's like, 'Mom, I can tell you're nervous.'
"We were driving down the hill almost giggling about it, because both my hands were 10-and-2, my shoulders were in my ears. She's like, 'Mom, you're freaking me out!' And we just laughed about it."
Sadie has also opened up about her health condition, revealing on the MesSy podcast last year that she'd been diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), which, according to ABC News, is marked by an abnormal increase in the heart rate.
