Chris Hughes has shared his guarded one-word response when asked about his relationship status with JoJo Siwa.

It seems like there's a new update every other day when it comes to these two following their time on Celebrity Big Brother, the infamous wrap party drama and their social media posts now that they've left the show.

And the latest update in the saga has since been announced as Chris himself has given fans a response when asked about what was really going on with JoJo.

But, before we get into all that, let's take a look back at the pair's timeline since appearing on the British reality TV programme.

During Celebrity Big Brother

Now, the 22-year-old former Dance Moms star got incredibly close with the 32-year-old Love Island alum, Chris, during their time on the ITV series earlier this year.

Ever since Chris defended JoJo against fellow housemate Mickey Rourke's creepy and homophobic remarks towards her, the pair struck up a very close friendship and could be seen most episodes being very touchy-feely, sharing a bed and engaging in 'flirty' behaviour.

It was also on CBB that JoJo shared that she no longer identified as a 'lesbian' but instead preferred 'queer'.

The wrap party

It wasn't until the CBB wrap party that the drama kicked up a notch - or five - as Kath Ebbs (JoJo's partner at the time throughout filming the reality TV series) soon revealed that JoJo broke up with them during the event.

And things only intensified from there with many fans rushing to social media to share their speculation on the alleged love triangle between the three individuals; Kath, JoJo and Chris.

What have JoJo and Chris previously said about the relationship?

After leaving the CBB house and after the news about the drama-filled wrap party came to light, both Chris and JoJo spoke in a number of interviews about the status of their relationship and shared a series of updates to fans keen on keeping up with the latest instalment of the whole saga.

They both agreed they shared a 'strong friendship' and likened their relationship to a 'soulmate friendship' in one interview.

And, when asked if she would like the friendship to turn 'romantic', JoJo revealed: "Look, he's a great guy. It is platonic. We have a lot of fun together.

"Life is life, and I don't know any future of anything, but I'm really grateful for our dynamic that we have, and our bond that we have, and whatever life does, life will do."

They've since appeared in a number of Instagram pictures on each other's social media accounts, fuelling the speculation even more.

Kath also broke their silence on Chris' behaviour and made sad admission about the break-up.

And the latest?

"What's going on with you and JoJo?" one fan asked in a YouTube Q&A released today (28 May) by House of Cavani, prompting Chris to reveal this was his 'favourite topic of conversation'.

"She's just my favourite person," he went on. "She's just just my favourite human and somebody I can literally talk about relentlessly."

Chris continued: "I miss her.

"My stomach was rumbling earlier. I keep getting stomach rumbles and I always get when I have separation anxiety and right now, God, how bad's the stomach been boys?

"Been a rumble in the old jungle down there!"

And, when asked about his 'current relationship status', Chris briefly answered: "Happy.

"That's my relationship status - happy. Yeah, I'm just happy that's good.

"I'm happy with that."
