One element of the brutal online exposé that Brooklyn Beckham released this week about parents David and Victoria has seemingly left some followers of the A-list drama absolutely stumped.
Who on earth is Marc Anthony?
For those out of the loop with the fiery feud, 26-year-old Brooklyn - the eldest son of ex-England star David, 50, and fashion designer Victoria, 51 - took to Instagram this week, where he confirmed long-standing rumours of tensions between the couple and his wife, Nicola Peltz.
Claiming he's 'been silent for years' to keep his 'controlling' parents happy, the amateur chef supposedly forced to speak out this week following 'continued' conversations between his parents and the press.

"I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life," he wrote. "I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared."

Brooklyn refused to stop there, however, even providing specific examples of how Spice Girl star Victoria tried 'endlessly to ruin' his relationship with 30-year-old Nicola, whom he married in 2022.
He alleged that, ahead of their nuptials, his mother pulling out of designing her wedding dress 'in the eleventh hour', and with dad David, had 'repeatedly' pressured their eldest son into signing away the rights to his name, which would 'have affected me, my wife, and our future children'.

On their subject of weddings, Brooklyn also claimed Victoria had 'hijacked' his first dance with Nicola.
First dance fury
This claim actually came to light years before the photographer's social media statement with an insider telling PEOPLE in 2023 that a family friend to the Beckhams, a man named Marc Anthony - who'd been hired to DJ - got on stage ahead of the big moment.

Claiming the incident saw Nicola run out of the room crying, the source told press: "[He] asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, 'The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up… Victoria Beckham!''"
A second insider backed up the 2023, claim, telling Page Six: "The shock was palpable. It was deeply hurtful. Unfortunately, this wasn’t a one-off. It’s a pattern that still happens to this day.
"Nicola felt like Victoria did this on purpose, when she knew it was a pre-planned romantic dance meant for Brooklyn and Nicola. What she couldn’t understand was why."
What did Brooklyn say this week?
Though the famous family opted not to address these rumours at the time, Brooklyn this week confirmed them, recalling the incident in rich detail.

"In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead," he wrote.

"She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life."
Brooklyn slammed the incident as 'embarrassing', claiming it spurred he and Nicola to renew their vows just three years later, 'so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness'.
Who is Marc Anthony?
As we say, amongst the countless questions that the cringe-worthy moment has raised in followers of the feud, is who Marc Anthony actually is, and why he had such a prominent role in Brooklyn and Nicola's nuptials.

"Marc Anthony realising he’s caused half of the Brooklyn Beckham drama," one X user joked in response to the beef.
Another admitted: "My biggest takeaway over the Beckham drama is how random it is that they chose Marc Anthony to perform at their wedding. What’s the story there?"

"Sorry ik its not the point but how is there a human in 2026 called Marc Antony," a third teased.
The latter remark seems to allude to prior existence of a war hero of the same name - a Roman general who played an integral role in cementing the ancient civilian's powerful Empire, a close pal to both Julius Caesar and Emperor Augustus, and the famed lover of Egyptian temptress, Cleopatra.
Obviously, we don't mean him.
The Marc Anthony of the 21st century is a 57-year-old award-winning musician, and one of the world's most famous salsa artists.
With collaborations with the likes of Pitbull and Bad Bunny under his belt, the New York-born star also appeared in a number of blockbuster hits, like Man on Fire, In The Heights, and El Cantante.

As well as sharing two children with first partner Debbie Rosado, and a further two with ex-Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, Anthony is the father to Jennifer Lopez' twins, Maximilian 'Max' and Emme Maribel.
He's not just famous for his professional life, however, but his personal life.
The big-name couple were married for 10 years before splitting up in 2014.
Whilst Lopez went on to re-marry former flame Ben Affleck, Marc Anthony married model Shannon De Lima before splitting up with her and wedding another model, Nadia Ferreira.
How does he know the Beckhams?
The answer to this question is pretty simple.
As is the case with countless Hollywood stars - from Eva Longoria to Gordon Ramsay, Elton John to actual living royals - Marc Anthony is just one of David and Victoria Beckham's hundred of huge-name pals.

The trio have been friends for years, with rumours claiming the couple had been fans of his music for a while, and that a friendship had grown from there.
They've all supported one another at star-studded events - including when Marc Anthony was awarded his Hollywood Walk of Fame award in 2023, which the Beckhams turned up for.
The couple also made the musician the godfather of their two youngest children, son Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 14. Former footballer David, meanwhile, is the godfather of Marc Anthony's son, Marquitos.
He hasn't yet spoken out over Brooklyn's bombshell statement.
