Ben Affleck has finally reacted to the viral video of his response to his son wanting a pair of $6,000 shoes.

No matter what you’re worth, six thousand is six thousand and even top movie star and producer, Affleck knows that.

After the 52-year-old Good Will Hunting star went on to utter his reaction to his 13-year-old son wanting a pair of uber expensive kicks, fans began to praise his parenting.

Of course, with celebs, you’d expect them to throw money at anything and not really give it a second thought.

However, it appears that the dad-of-three is a little more frugal than once thought.

Affleck, who shares three children Violet Anne, 19, Seraphina Rose, 16, and Samuel, 13, with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, was seen eyeing up Samuel’s shoe choice after the clip was posted to TikTok.

The clip, which was uploaded by sneaker event page Got Sole, shows the father standing beside his son as he looked at the selection of ultra-rare trainers on offer.

But when he got a little too excited over a pair of Dior x Air Jordan 1 Low trainers worth six thousand dollars, Affleck stepped in.

Even though his net worth is reportedly $150 million dollars, according to Celebrity Net Worth, he had to put his foot down over a pair of Dior Air Force 1's which caught his son’s eye.

He told his son that he would need to carry out chores afford the shoes, stating: "That's a lot of lawns you gotta mow there!"

He also told his son that he was only interested in them 'because they're expensive’.

Anyway, he’s finally reacted to the social media video and praise, and he’s keeping it real.

He shared during an interview with Access Hollywood at SXSW on Saturday (9 March) that his son decided not to get the shoes due to the labour involved.

Affleck explained: "That’s what happens when you tell a motherf**ker they have to mow a lawn. All of a sudden, they don’t want those shoes. I’m like, 'Man, you do not need $1,000 shoes'. He’s like, 'We have the money'. I’m like, 'I have the money, you’re broke'."

So, perhaps the boy went home empty handed, but he learned a lesson about hard work paying off?

Anyway, the OG video on TikTok received a lot of love towards Affleck, who has been spending more and more time with Garner and his children since his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.

One TikTok user penned: "Ben worth hundreds of millions and said no. Make him earn it good dad!"

"Their kids don't act entitled," commented a second, while a third chimed in: "Gotta give props to ben man. He raised his kid well!"

A fourth praised: "Good parenting. even though you’re rich don’t buy your kid $5,000 sneakers."

And a final TikTok user gushed: "Ben is a great dad. For children to know that things are earned is so important, not handed to you."
