Adriana Lima hits back at trolls who commented on her appearance

Adriana Lima has hit back at trolls who said her face was 'unrecognisable' at a recent event in LA.

The 42-year-old, who is best known for her work as a Victoria's Secret Angel, attended the premiere for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes on Tuesday (14 October).

The much-anticipated film is a prequel to the popular Hunger Games trilogy, and follows a young Coriolanus Snow, long before his days as the tyrannical leader of Panem, as he is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird at the 10th Hunger Games.

But fans at the film's premiere were left rather distracted by supermodel, Adriana's face.

Taking to X, one person wrote: "I would have had no idea that was the same person."

Another said: "OH NOOOOOO! What did she do to her face?! and WHY????? She was perfect before."

And a third commented: "That can't be real."

Others speculated as to whether the Brazilian bombshell's face was 'still swollen' following a cosmetic procedure or if she was suffering from some sort of medical issue.

Following the, at times, brutal discussions about the model's appearance, Adriana took to Instagram to hit back at her critics and it seems her sculpted face was simply down to makeup.

Sharing a makeup-free selfie to the platform, she wrote: "This is the face of a tired mom of one teenage girl, two pre-teens, one active boy, a 1 year old learning to walk, and three dogs... thanks for your concern."

Fans stuck up for the mum, saying her response to criticisms about her face was 'inspiring' and 'relatable.'

One X user added: "Her gratitude for the concern adds a touch of grace to her acknowledgment of the challenges she faces."

Adriana was a Victoria's Secret Angel between 1999 and 2018.

In 2020, she spoke to Vogue India about how she's trying to be a good role model for her daughters.

The model said: "As my two daughters have gotten older, I've realised that they copy a lot of what I do and my habits, and it's important for me to make sure they're copying good ones.

"I try to teach them to love the skin they're in and eat healthily for their bodies and to also practise positive mental wellness through meditation."

Adriana shares daughters Valentina, 13 and Sienna, 10 with ex husband and former NBA player, Marko Jarić.

She is currently dating film producer, Andre Lemmers, with whom she welcomed a baby boy in August of last year.
