Paris Hilton has hit back at trolls who have taken it upon themselves to 'mum shame' her after watching a newly released video of her son.

Paris shares her son, one-year-old Phoenix, with her husband Carter Reum.

The 43-year-old socialite welcomed Phoenix into the world via surrogate and announced his birth on January 16, 2023.

A new video posted by Paris to TikTok and Instagram shows Phoenix exploring a Sunreef catamaran, looking happy as can be while dressed in a red shirt.

She captioned the sweet video: "Watching Phoenix explore the world has been so special to me! I am so grateful to be a #SlivingMom."

Paris coined the term 'Sliving' in 2019 which is a combination of 'slaying' and 'living'.

While many fans were overjoyed to see the video, others jumped in to give Paris some unsolicited advice.

One person wrote: "As a mother who takes her daughter on sail boats LIFEJACKET ALWAYS omg no matter how big."

Another said: "My anxiety not seeing him in a life jacket! Can never be too safe on the water!"

A third added: "Momma, please have him wear a life jacket always on a boat!! Stuff happens. That’s why they’re called accidents. With love."

Needless to say, many others were supportive of Paris' parenting.

One person said: "Came straight to the comments just to see how many people are trying to judge her as a mother. How sad, she is a fantastic mother!!!"

Another added: "Do people not realise that this is a big boat with guard rails?

She’s extremely close to him and it seems like he’s not coming close to the edges. How did people live before all the extra protections?"

While someone else commented: "Amazing, and giving him the courage to explore. Take no notice of all these mums who’s anxiety is clearly through the roof. You’re doing amazing."

Paris has since weighed in herself to settle the debate once and for all.

She wrote to her followers: "Hey Mamma’s, thank you for the advice & always caring about my #CutesieCrew 🥺 It’s a big boat & my husband and I are following him around everywhere & watching like hawks. My babies are my world!"

Sunreef Yachts, the company who own the catamaran Paris and her family were sailing on, are a luxury boat company.

Their site explains that they are the 'leading designer and manufacturer of luxury sailing and power multihulls.'

It continues: "Each catamaran, motor yacht, and superyacht built is a bespoke creation. Every yacht is a vision brought to life, thoughtfully designed to deliver luxury, style and comfort."
