Conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel break silence after being spotted with newborn baby

The sisters sparked confusion last month when they were spotted seemingly carrying a newborn baby

Conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel have addressed the recent paparazzi photos taken of them where they were seen holding a newborn baby.

For those unfamiliar with the US-born sisters, they are dicephalic parapagus twins, and were one of the first sets of conjoined twins to survive infancy.

They have separate heads - Abby the right and Brittany the left - but share one body, of which they each control one side.

They first shot to fame in their own TLC series, before going on to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show, where they answered the world's questions about the ins and outs of their life together.

Then, the sisters were all over the internet again last year when it was revealed that Abby had quietly tied the knot in 2021 to hubby, Josh Bowling.

And just last month, the duo sparked a flurry of questions when they were seen walking to a car holding a baby carrier with a newborn tot inside.

Fans of the twins were desperate to know all the details, including whether the baby is related to them and who the mother is.

Taking to TikTok to break their silence on the snaps, Abby and Brittany issued quite a cryptic message that honestly hasn't really confirmed a lot.

They simply shared a slew of the pap pics this week, writing in the caption: "Blessed."

The duo went on to add a series of hashtags including '#twins,' #sisterhood' and '#respect' - and now, people are even more baffled.

Of course, the twins don't owe anyone an explanation about their private life, but social media users seemingly can't help but be curious.

In the comments of the TikTok, one user wrote: "I have so many questions" while a second penned: "Is this their child? Or baby sitting?"

And a third questioned: "So who had the baby? What happens if only one wants to give birth and the other doesn’t?"

Meanwhile, someone else jumped to the conclusion that they're parents and penned: "Congratulations Abby & Brittany, you are amazing girls and have started another amazing adventure."

And someone else supportively added: "I'm glad to see you're still out and about! With that said you don't owe anyone, anything.

"People can wonder all they want, they are not entitled to your lives. I pray the best for you!"

Hitting out at some cruel troll comments, another fan chimed in with: "Well one things for sure if this is their little baby he or she is gonna gets lots of kisses.

"I don’t see why they shouldn’t have a child doesn’t matter if baby is adopted or by surrogacy as long as baby is well loved and cared for that’s all that matters…good luck to them."

Abby and Brittany share some of the same organs, including their bladder and reproductive organs, but have their own brain, heart, stomach and lungs, and they are joined at the pelvis.

Each sister controls one side of their body and they both attended Bethel University, graduating with a degree in education in 2012, however each of them had to get their own diploma.

And now both aged 35, the duo work as teachers in a primary school, specialising in teaching maths to year 5 and 6 students.
