The wait is over: BBC America has finally released the trailer for the second series of Killing Eve, and it looks incredible.

Building on the huge popularity of the quirky thriller's first series, the second season looks just as action-packed, witty and addictive, if the trailer is anything to go by.

The minute-long preview shows us just what MI5 officer Eve Polastri, played by Sandra Oh, and psychopathic assassin Villanelle, played by Jodie Comer, got up to after the shocking ending of series one.

It looks like there's a whole series of deranged alter egos to come in series two, and in between all the inevitable killings and emotional rollercoaster rides, we're sure to see some fabulous outfits from Villanelle.

One memorable scene from the trailer shows an Instagrammer approaching Villanelle, snappily dressed in one of her trademark millennial pink looks.

But as we might expect of the unlikely heroine, she's quick to turn down a photo opportunity, barking at the blogger's photo request: "Of course not. Get a real life!"

While the first series was penned by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, because of her commitments to Fleabag's second series, this season was written by Call The Midwife's Emerald Fennell.

The show was so popular when it first aired Stateside that a second series was commissioned before it had even been shown in the UK.

"The early response to Killing Eve has been incredible - for that reason, as well as the fact that we wholeheartedly love this original, funny, thrillingly entertaining series, we are delighted to move ahead with a second season before we even premiere," said BBC America president Sarah Barnett.

There's no confirmed UK release date yet, but the series will be shown in the USA in April. Here's hoping we don't have to wait too long to binge-watch the next instalment of everyone's favourite crime show.
