Who remembers The Land Before Time? It was an absolute childhood classic.

The 1988 animated adventure (executive produced by Steven Spielberg) had us watching on repeat as kids.

We cried when Littlefoot's mother died and hid behind our pillows during the Sharptooth scene, ultimately wishing there was a RL version of The Great Valley.

Anyway, the much-loved children's film has just landed on Netflix! Yessss.

The Land Before Time tells the story of a young Apatosaurus dinosaur named Littlefoot, who is orphaned when his mother is killed by a vicious T-Rex.

A devastating earthquake separates Littlefoot from his herd, so he heads towards the fabled oasis that his mother always told him about: The Great Valley.

Along his way, he meets other young dinosaurs parted from their families, including Cera the Triceratops (aka 'Threehorn'), Petrie the Pteranodon ('Flyer'), Ducky the Saurolophus ('Bigmouth') and Spike the Stegosaurus ('Spiketail').

Guided by the spirit of Littlefoot's mother (we're not crying YOU ARE), the foursome head to the oasis, hoping to be reunited with their families.

Along the way, the young dinos run into trouble with a T-Rex and other threats such as lava, a pack of 'domeheads'.

The vicious T-Rex (known as Sharptooth), hunts Littlefoot and his friends until they come up with a scheme to stop him, crushing him with a boulder.

Eventually, the gang find The Great Valley and are reunited with their families in scenes that warmed the heart.

The Land Before Time stars Gabriel Damon (Littlefoot), Candace Hutson (Cera), Judith Barsi (Ducky) and Will Ryan (Spike). The film received 7.4 stars out of 10 on IMDB and 72 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes - testament to the amazingness of the movie!

We're definitely going to be watching it this weekend, if not for the nostalgia, for the light relief.
