If lockdown has you hankering for a mini break, then Netflix's new addition will be the next best thing.

The Holiday is dropping on the streaming platform later this month, so we can virtually transport ourselves to sunny L.A. or Iris' cosy Surrey cottage.

Announcing the news on Twitter, Netflix shared a list of some up-and-coming releases, including Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga and Scarface.

The platform said that The Holiday would be landing on the 30th of June.

For those who need a reminder, the Nancy Meyers rom-com follows Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz as protagonists, Iris and Amanda.

The pair arrange a home exchange in order to escape their own heartache, but both find more than they bargain for when they jet across the pond.

While Amanda isn't feeling the vacay at first, it isn't long before she's swept off her feet by Iris' brother, Graham (Jude Law).

Meanwhile Iris and Jack Black's Miles also strike up a romance after crossing paths, and the film also focuses on her heartwarming bond with local writer, Arthur (Eli Wallach) - her unlikely companion on the holiday.

Shannyn Sossamon, Edward Burns and Rufus Sewell also star.

While The Holiday is set at Christmas, and is *technically* a festive film, we think the ongoing lockdown is excuse enough to start the festivities early, right?!

And, hey, if Netflix think it's okay then who are we to argue?

Reacting to the news, one fan shared a meme of Iris and Miles looking excited, while another shared a GIF of Amanda swigging from a wine bottle, alongside the words: "Oh yeah".

"Christmas Movies... starting in June," they wrote.

We're feelin' it, too.

The Holiday joins Scarface, The Big Lebowski and Billy Madison in joining the streaming platform on the 30th June.

DARK season 3 lands on the 27th June while Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, RuPaul's Drag Race Untucked season 12 and Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga arrive on the 26th.

Netflix will be releasing July's full-list of new releases in due course.
