If you were a fan of Revenge, then we've got some very exciting news for you - it's back!

That's right, the smash-hit ABC drama is the latest to get a brand spanking new reboot, which is set to be a follow-up to the 2011 series.

We still don't know much about what the reboot will entail yet, but what we do know is that it is set to focus around an immigrant Latinx lead character.

Deadline report that she'll be "guided by one of the original series' favourite characters" as she "arrives in Malibu to exact revenge on a Sackler-esque pharmaceutical dynasty, whose insatiable greed lead to the murder of her biochemist mother, the destruction of her family, and a global epidemic."

ABC is yet to reveal any of the stars joining the new show, or which much-loved star will be "guiding" her.

Fans will naturally be hoping that much loved characters including Nolan Ross and Louise Virginia Ellis will be making a comeback, although there aren't even any rumours of big names attached to the project as of yet.

However, the show's series creator and executive creator Mike Kelley is said to be on board, alongside writer-producer Joe Fazzio, meaning we can rest assured the scripts will be as incredible as ever.

The original show aired for four seasons and starred Emily VanCamp and Madeleine Stowe, among others.

Inspired by Alexandre Dumas' book, The Count of Monte Cristo, the series followed Emily on her revenge mission, as she headed to the Hamptons gunning for the rich family who framed her father.

The news shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, seeing as earlier this year, ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke told The Hollywood Reporter that she was keen to "harken back" some of ABC's most "brand-defining" shows.

However, naturally, it has received a mixed response since being announced.

"I miss Emily Thorne and her revengenda every day. So excited about this potential #Revenge reboot news, as long as @EmilyVanCamp makes an appearance!," one fan wrote.

While another agreed: "The first season of revenge was so good and then it just became a mess i am so down for a reboot cos it had so much potential".

Meanwhile, another was a little more hesitant, writing: "Please don't f*ck up the last season! I loved this show so much!"
