For the last few months, Stranger Things fans have been desperate to know if Season 4 of the Netflix show will be its last.

And now we're happy to tell you that creators have confirmed the show will go on beyond the fourth instalment! Yass.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, creators Ross and Matt Duffer announced the news, explaining the pandemic has given them more time to work on scripts.

Ross said: "Season four won't be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is.

"[The coronavirus pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story."

Meanwhile, Matt added: "We've had a lot more time to work on the scripts. For the first time, we have all the scripts written and we're able to look at it as a whole piece and make adjustments."

Sounds very intriguing indeed.

Ross and Matt were also asked when production might pick up again, but they remained tight-lipped on the subject.

"Everyone's excited to get back to work, but the priority is the safety of the cast and crew, and that will dictate when we go back," said Ross.

According to reports, the cast have apparently been given a preliminary date of 17th September - but this has not been confirmed.

It seems it will be worth the wait, however. Apparently, the fourth season of the sci-fi show is tipped to be its best yet, with Natalia Dyer - aka Nancy Wheeler - explaining that the halt in production had given the writers more time to work on the scripts and explore juicy plot details.

"I think it's maybe been a blessing for the writers, in some way, because they had the time to just sit down, think, and create. So, yeah, it appears to be that they've got it all down," she said.

And it's expected the upcoming season could have an extra episode, too. When asked about the possibility of there being nine episodes instead of eight, Natalia said it "appears to be".

Great news all round for Stranger Things fans, right?!
