After delays caused by the dreaded C word, the Gossip Girl reboot has finally begun filming and the show's stars have been spotted on set in New York City.
It's about time!
Eli Brown, best known as Dylan Walker in Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, and Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) were spotted all dressed up and leaving what looks to be a bar or restaurant, and it has got us seriously excited.
HBO has previously announced that Emily Alyn Lind, Johnathan Fernandez, and Jason Gotay will be following in the footsteps of the privileged adolescents. We don't know just yet who their characters will be other than the fact that Lind will be playing 'Audrey', described as a teen in a long-term relationship who begins to wonder what else could be out there.
Is anyone else getting serious Dan Humphry vibes from Eli, though?
While news of the reboot is obviously extremely exciting, it seems fans aren't so sold on the outfit choices of our new Upper East Siders after seeing the sneak peek on Instagram.
"Gossip Girl with that cheap dress? Nope," said one follower, with another adding: "Should we assumed [sic] that they are Serena and Dan? Because...I think S wouldn't wear something like that, sis..." said another.
"These costumes are BUNK," said a third.
The new 10-part series will begin eight years after the original and follow a new generation of New York's teen elite.
The reboot was first announced in July 2019 and the synopsis, according to Deadline, reads: "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl.
"The prestige series will address just how much social media - and the landscape of New York itself - has changed in the intervening years."

The original creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are also behind the new show, while Joshua Safran, a writer and producer on the OG show, is also on board and in charge of writing the reboot.
We also know that Kristen Bell will be returning as a narrator, so we have high hopes for this reboot!
The show is set to air in 2021 but we don't have an exact date just yet. Watch this space!
xoxo
