Good Morning Britain viewers were left in stitches as a guest swore at host Richard Madeley live on air.

TV viewers called the hilarious moment 'TV gold' as Richard clashed on screen with Insulate Britain campaigner Tracey Mallaghan.

As Richard questioned Tracey about the road blocking protests, she then went on to criticise celebrities, such as William Shatner, going to space on "rockets shaped like d***s".

When asked by the host where she'd get the money to implement the changes she'd like to see, co-host Ranvir Singh asked her: "I'd like to see where you'd take the money from, to insulate every single home?"

"I'd take it from the people going into space on rockets shaped like d***s to be honest with you," Tracey replied.

"Sorry, was that a serious answer?" asked Richard.

"Do you really think that's not a serious answer?" Tracey replied.

Viewers were bemused by the humorous exchange, which also saw the guest laying into Richard Madeley for being "heartless" and "too scared".

"Is it because you're heartless or too scared to look at the reality of our situation?" Tracey asked the TV presenter.

"More TV gold on @GMB this morning," said one.

"There is TV gold taking place right now on ITV. This is priceless and yet I want to tear my flesh off as it's so awkward," said another.

Meanwhile a third said: "Absolute TV gold at half 7 in the morning!"

Good Morning Britain airs on ITV on weekday mornings.
