If you scoffed, sobbed and swooned your way through Netflix's first season of Dating Around last year, then you'll be happy to hear it's back for a second season.

Dropping on the streaming platform on Friday 12th June, the show is bringing with it a whole new batch of singletons on the hunt for love, and sending them out on five dates each in the hope they find their soulmates.

Catch a glimpse here:

You'll remember season one started off in New York City, and brought us a super-diverse cast of lonely hearts - all a mix of different ages, sexual orientations, and ethnicities.

And this time we're travelling to New Orleans, Louisiana, in a world before coronavirus, where people could still meet in bars and restaurants (and even get closer than 2 metres apart, should they so choose!)

As before, the idea is that the participants all weigh up their five dates and then pick who they would like to see again - if anyone.

Each episode is only 30 minutes, making it delightfully binge-able.

And unlike other dating shows, this one's not about gimmicks or cringey challenges. It's all about watching as conversations unfold, and people suss each other out - like a fly on the wall.

Don't be fooled into thinking the simple format idea means there's a lack of drama, though.

Needless to say, blind dating is awkward and exhausting at the best of times, and Dating Around truly encapsulates the highs and the lows of these first encounters.

Last season we saw things turn sour between one woman named Gurki and her date, Justin, after he criticised her decision to marry after pressure from her family.

After a very tense exchange of words, Justin eventually walked out on Gurki mid-date.

But she had the last laugh, as she ended up choosing not to see any of her dates again, and the episode instead concluded with her smiling and walking through NYC on her own, with no need for a man like Justin in her life.

We can't wait to see who they've got lined up for this season...
