Marilyn Manson once boasted about covering a deaf fan in meat and urinating on her when she visited his band at a studio.
Manson, real-name Brian Hugh Warner, hit headlines this week after being accused of "horrifically abusing" former girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood, claims the musician has denied.
But around 10 years before the pair started dating, the 52-year-old shared a sickening story in his 1998 autobiography, The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell.
After meeting deaf fan Alyssa* at a party, the rocker recalls how he invited Alyssa into a studio in Miami where he was recording new music with his band in 1994.
Detailing the incident in a chapter titled Meat and Greet, Manson explained: "I immediately realised that she was deaf because of the way her voice sounded. She told me that she could feel the music when she's close to the stage and that's how she gets her enjoyment from it."
When Alyssa arrived, Manson asked her to take off all her clothes, before he and his bandmates covered her naked body in meat.
"At this point, I didn't think it was very sexual. It was more of a living meat sculpture," he said.
Things escalated after Manson asked two members of his band to perform a sexual act, which led to one band member having sex with Alyssa before the group urinated on her in the shower.
While many readers were understandably shocked by the account, Manson insisted that Alyssa consented to the sex acts.
"I should mention that I do not feel that she was being exploited by any means," he said at the time. "Because despite however many cameras, street musicians, and sketch artists were in the room clapping and dancing around to Slayer or whatever was playing at the time, she was very excited to be a part of it.
"I think she, too, found it to be art and was having a good time.
"We were all shocked and amazed that we were commanding that much sexual power and that there was a naked deaf girl in the studio."
The story resurfaced after Manson's ex-girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood, and four other women claimed the singer had been sexually violent and abusive towards them while in relationships.
In a powerful statement, Evan wrote: "The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson.
"He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission.
"I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent."
After being quickly dropped by his record label, and cut from a TV series, Manson posted a statement to his Instagram account, denying the allegations.
"Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality," he wrote.
"My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how - and why - others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth."
