Katy Perry Announces She's Expecting Her First Child With Orlando Bloom

Huge congratulations to Katy Perry who has announced she is expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom.

The pop star announced the news first in a new music video on Instagram before confirming her pregnancy in a social media live stream.

Katy, 35, took to Instagram yesterday evening to tease the release of her latest music video, 'Never Worn White'.

And during the snippet, fans were taken aback when they saw Katy standing in a beautiful white dress cradling a baby bump. Naturally, followers rushed to the comments to ask the star if she's expecting.

"Let's just say it's gonna be a jam packed summer," she teased.

And later, in a live video after the music vid was officially released, she explained: "Let's call it a double-whammy.

"I am excited, we're excited, and happy. It's probably the longest secret I've ever had to keep."

Later on Twitter, Katy explained she was "so glad I don't have to suck it in anymore" adding: "Or carry around a big purse lol."

In the live video, Katy explained the song is "very honest" and about "surrendering to love".

"It's a super vulnerable song for me to put out there," Katy said.

"It's very honest, it's about surrendering to love and all that you go through when you're about to commit to someone."

In the track - believed to be speaking about her upcoming marriage to Orlando - Katy sings: "'Cause I've never worn white/But I wanna' get it right".

She later explained the lyrics *are* accurate, as in her wedding to Russel Brand, in 2010, the singer wore dove grey.

"The truth is I have never worn white," she said.

"Because the time before this, 10 years ago, I wore dove grey. So let's just say it'll be my first time wearing white."

Katy and Orlando are reported to have started dating in early 2016. It wasn't until May that they became 'official' with Katy posting a snap of the pair on her Instagram.

The pair briefly split in 2017 before reuniting a few months later and announcing their engagement on Valentine's Day 2019.
