Vogue Williams slams plane passenger who refused to swap seats with her

The media personality revealed how a passenger refused to swap seats so she could be closer to her family

Vogue Williams has slammed a plane passenger who refused to swap seats with her so she could be closer to her family.

Williams who is married to Made in Chelsea's Spence Matthews spoke about the incident on the Spencer and Vogue Podcast.

The Irish model explained that she prefers to be seated at the front of the plane because she usually has hand luggage, a buggy and baby in tow.

Discussing her travel requirements, she said: “I want to be at the front of the plane, and I would like, preferably, a window seat so that I can try and go to sleep with the baby in my arms, or an aisle if there’s nothing free.”

Williams then recalled one incident where a passenger refused to swap seats with her so she could be closer to her family.

The 37-year-old had requested to swap seats with a passenger, after she had booked the wrong seats and was not seated beside her husband and three children.

“I was sitting in a row of three, and Spenny and Gina were in the other seat. So they were in the aisle seat and the middle seat so we were almost in a five," she said.

She continued: "You were like, ‘would you mind being in the window seat instead of the aisle so that we can all be together?

“He was like, ‘yes Spencer, I would mind’. We were just like, ‘okay, dude’.”

The media personality then explained that the passenger refused to swap seats until he realised he was making things difficult for the children.

Williams added: "Anyway, when he realised he was being an absolute t***, because he looked at me with a newborn baby and the two kids beside me he was like, ‘okay, fine, I’ll do it’.”

"The air hostess came down and I was like, ‘would you have another aisle seat for this f**king particular piece of s**t over here?’ He was awful, awful."

While Williams recognises her requests might make her a diva, she insists that fellow passengers should help to make things easier for those flying with children.

She said: "I know this sounds Diva-ish but it’s just one of the things I like when I’m travelling. I don’t want to be right at the back of a plane because I’m usually carrying hand luggage, a baby and a buggy."

She added: “I feel like when people have kids, it is a nightmare on flights, if you can in any way help them out..."

Recalling a different incident where she was seated in the middle, Williams told listeners how one woman offered to switch with her to make it easier for the model and who had to take care of her children.

She said: "This woman comes alone, the owner of the aisle seat, and she said, 'no, no, you've got a baby, I'll sit in the middle', I was like, 'you are an angel sent from God, you are so kind.'"

Williams and Matthews are regularly jetting off around the world with their family.

The couple share three children, Theodore, Gigi and their youngest Otto who was born in May.
