Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash battling council over their £1.3million Pickle Cottage

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash battling council over their £1.3million Pickle Cottage

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash are in a battle with Essex Council over renovations that want to make to their family home

Joe Swash and his partner Stacey Solomon have been in a battle with their local council over their £1.3million Pickle Cottage.

Joe and Stacey welcomed their two youngest - Belle and Rose - at the Essex cottage. The pair are also parents to Rex, with Stacey also mother to Zachary and Leighton from previous relationships.

As for Joe, he has son Harry from a past relationship, so when all the kids are over, it is certainly a full house.

It is a home that the couple obviously love too, as they officially tied the knot there last year in its garden grounds.

Now, the pair want to create more space to fit their offspring in, but they are reportedly facing challenges in doing so.

According to The Sun, Essex Council have rejected their proposal for a single-storey extension for a second time over fears surrounding modifying the 16th century property.

Documents show that they first applied for the extension in February 2022, which was rejected.

The latest application was thrown out five weeks ago for the house all of Stacey's followers will be familiar with.

A source close to Stacey told The Sun: "All the renovations at Pickle Cottage are now complete so Stacey and Joe’s architects are no longer pursuing any planning proposals."

Despite all that, Stacey has recently said that she is struggling with space, with three-year-old Rex already outgrowing his room.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, she said: "It makes more sense for the girls to share & Rex to have his own room! Also Rex has outgrown pandas so I’m glad I did it all on a budget.

"Now I can swap them over and bring the bits I love from each room over and change Rex’s theme."

It comes after Joe opened up on how the experience being back on I'm A Celebrity has made him feel.

"It's just overwhelming innit," the former Eastenders actor said on the show.

"The whole thing's overwhelming, the hunger, the tiredness, being away from your family.

"I'm obviously stressing out about the kids not seeing them, missing them, so I think they are getting into my sleep a bit now."
