Scarlett Johansson has made a rare comment about her ex-husband Ryan Reynolds.

We know what many of you are thinking, 'when were they a thing?' well, you’d be forgiven for not knowing that they were married for three years.

Scarlett and Ryan exchanged vows in 2008, with the ceremony taking place on 27 September the same year near Tofino, British Columbia.

However, the marriage was short-lived and on 14 December 2010, the two actors announced their separation in a joint statement, saying they were leaving their relationship as it started, with 'love and kindness'.

However, you also wouldn't be the only one to be surprised by that fact, as so was Gwyneth Paltrow.

The Black Widow star, 38, has opened up about her marriage while appearing on her Goop podcast on Tuesday (18 April).

Gwyneth, 50, asked: “You’ve been married two times?” to which the Avengers: Endgame star clarified: “Three times.”

The Iron Man star then exclaimed: “Oh that’s right, because I forgot that you were married to Ryan Reynolds!"

Adding: "Goals!”

"Yes," Scarlett laughed in response. "We weren't married very long, but we were when I first met you, for Iron Man [2] or whatever."

Gwyneth gushed: “We love a good Ryan Reynolds in our house."

To which Scarlett said: “He’s a good guy.”

But it seems like the two actors have found happiness with their current partners.

Ryan met Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively, 35, in early 2010 while filming Green Lantern.

They started dating in 2011 and got married on 9 September 2012.

The couple share daughters James, eight, Inez, six, Betty, three, and a fourth child, who was reportedly born earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the Lucy actor married French journalist Romain Dauriac in 2014, and together they share an eight-year-old daughter named Rose.

The pair split in 2017 and Scarlett began a relationship with Saturday Night Live actor Colin Jost, 40, the same year.

Scarlett and Colin had actually met all the way back in 2006, but didn’t start dating until many years later.

They tied the knot in October 2020 before welcoming their now one-year-old son, Cosmo, in August 2021.

Elsewhere in the interview, Gwyneth asked Scarlett about what she’s learned from her previous relationships.

To which she answered: “It’s funny. I knew Colin for a long time, but only kind of through work.

"And when we first started seeing other, I would never have probably been ready for a relationship like the one that I have with Colin at different times in my life because I wasn't comfortable with setting my own boundaries, and I didn't know what I wanted or needed from somebody else."
