Until now, Nicole Kidman has remained very private about her split from Keith Urban, but she has now opened up about being left feeling 'vulnerable' afterwards.
The Practical Magic star has spoken out in a new interview with British Vogue, sharing her feelings in the wake of the divorce from Urban, as well as the mistakes she made over the years with her ex, Tom Cruise.
Kidman, 59, married Urban, 58, in 2006 and the couple went on to have two daughters, Sunday Rose, 18, and Faith Margaret, 15.
News of their split emerged in September 2025 after 19 years of marriage, with Kidman filing for divorce citing 'marital difficulties and irreconcilable differences' as the reason behind the split.

Kidman remained as the main 'residential parent' for their daughters, and their divorce was finalised in January of this year.

The star has said her second divorce forced her to have a 'different view' of what her life would be.
She told British Vogue it has mot been the easiest year, adding: "But at the same time I’m like, ‘OK, I didn’t expect this. I had a different view of what my life was going to be, but this is what it is now.’ You make all these plans and you have all these ideas of what it’s all going to be like and then it’s… not. You have to adjust. You adapt. The future, it’s completely unknown to me right now.”
She added: “There was a point where I was very fearful and deeply vulnerable, which is exposing. And then at the same time [I’m] going, “Well, I can either really not confront it and just curl up, or I can just go forward with an enormous amount of hope.”
Kidman insists the most important things in life for her are "Trying things, making mistakes, failing, getting back up, moving on, embracing love, staying open, keeping the heart open and the possibilities.”
She was asked whether handling the fallout from her first very public divorce from Tom Cruise had made navigating her second split any easier.
The Moulin Rouge star quipped: "It’s all new. Every time!”

Kidman married the Top Gun actor in 1990, before eventually divorcing in 2001.
She recalled how her life suddenly turned upside down when she married him at a young age: “Suddenly I was 22, 23 years old and I had this huge movie star husband."
"But it just seemed completely natural. We just fell madly in love and it was that simple," she explains.
It turns out that people had tried to warn her about the union, saying it was 'really going to affect your career’.
Kidman insisted she wasn't bothered: "I’m like, ‘I don’t care. I’m in love. I want to be married,."
"And then I was his wife and they were like, ‘See, we told you.’ I’m like, ‘So what? I wasn’t meant to marry the man I love? Of course I’ll throw my career away. I don’t care'" the star remembered.
The couple married on Christmas Eve in 1990, and went on to adopt two children, Isabella 'Bella' Jane Cruise, and son Connor Anthony Cruise.
Now though, following the split of Urban, she says she's mostly excited about the future: “Like, where am I going? And what’s next?”
