Gwyneth Paltrow has admitted that having children ‘ruins’ relationships.

The Sliding Doors actress, 50, shares 18-year-old daughter Apple and 16-year-old son Moses with ex-husband Chris Martin.

Speaking with Katy Perry on her Goop podcast, Gwyneth said relationships are never the same after welcoming children.

“It’s hard on a relationship,” the Goop founder said. “Like I’ve looked back now on like the data set of parents with young kids.

“It just… ruins the relationship,” she laughed, adding: “It’s really hard!”

The ‘Dark Horse’ singer, 38, shares two-year-old daughter Daisy Dove with fiancé Orlando Bloom, 46. She is also step-mum to Orlando’s son Flynn, 12.

Katy agreed with Gwyneth but explained that both people in the relationship need to pull their weight.

“I think if both people in the relationship are willing to do the work then it’s going to be so much easier,” she shared.

“But if one person thinks they don’t have any work to do then it’s going be really challenging.”

The Best Actress Oscar winner said before she had her eldest child, Apple, in 2004, she felt ‘profoundly lonely’. But that all changed when she became a mum.

Gwyneth Paltrow posted an adorable picture with her children Apple and Moses Martin.

She said: “I never felt lonely again after I had her [Apple]… and I had felt profoundly lonely in my life.”

Gwyneth was married to Coldplay singer Chris from 2003 until their conscious uncoupling in 2014. They finalised their divorce in 2015.

She met her current husband, TV producer Brad Falchuk, 51, on the set of Glee in 2014 and they tied the knot in September 2018.

Brad is best known for his work with Ryan Murphy, including Pose and American Horror Story. He has two children, Isabella, 18 and Brody, 16, who he shares with his ex Suzanne Bukinik.

Elsewhere, Perry also spoke about her previous ‘type’ before meeting Orlando.

Katy and Orlando welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove in August 2020.

When asked by the Iron Man actress if she had a certain type, Katy admitted she used to love ‘narcissists… I loved a hot narcy.’

She was previously married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012 and dated John Mayer prior to meeting her fiancé.

Gwyneth insisted she had never seen Orlando so happy when he met the 13-time Grammy nominee.

“He was, like, bouncing up and down,” the actress said.

Katy gushed about her man, adding: “He was the first man that I met that was kind of a loop breaker for me. He was consistent, he kept showing up. [I] kept showing him my absolute worst.

“I was testing him like ‘do you really love me?’”

This is so adorable.
