Millie Bobby Brown says she wants to play Britney Spears in a biopic

Millie Bobby Brown says she wants to play Britney Spears in a biopic

Fans of the Stranger Things star went wild at the suggestion.

Millie Bobby Brown has thrown her hat in the ring to play Britney Spears, should a biopic ever be made about the iconic pop singer's life.

The Stranger Things star, 18, made the revelation to Drew Barrymore, 47, explaining that it was a life goal of her's to get the chance to play Spears.

Brown made the revelation as the pair discussed what it was like to grow up in the spotlight during a recent apperance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

Barrymore asked Brown what her career goals are, and without missing a beat, she said that she would like to play a real person for a change.

"I think [Britney's] story, first of all, resonates with me growing up in the public eye. Watching her videos, watching interviews of her when she was younger," she explained.

"Same thing with you; I see the scramble for words [in the interviews]. I don't know her but when I look at pictures of her, I feel like I could tell her story in the right way and hers only."

The actor then explained why she'd be perfect to play Spears, citing the fact that she has previously shown she can sing her songs after performing 'Gimme More' with Noah Schnapp.

Viewers of the show were quick to share their thoughts about Brown potentially playing Spears - and they were big fans of the possibility.

One wrote: "Omg she would be the perfect Britney. You can already see it in her eyes. Imagine the hair and makeup to transform her she would be nearly identical.

"Plus she is an absolute beast of an actor. I hope Britney sees this cuz i think very few could do it better than Millie ngl [sic]."

A Twitter user then shared that the similarities between the actress and the singer have already been noted.

"She would kill it," wrote a third fan while a fourth remarked: "I think she could do Early Britney, but I'm not sure she has seen enough Life to get Older Britney. She has been through a lot."

However, not everyone was a fan of the idea of a biopic, and some fans said that Spears, now 40, should be left alone after her highly-publicised conservatorship battle.

"No please!" wrote another fan. "We just need to leave her alone. She's had to deal with so much crap most of her life. The last thing she needs is a glorified Hollywood biopic of her life."

"No I don't think so," agreed a second fan. "No one could ever play Britney Spears and tell her story only Britney knows and feels what she has gone through and still struggles with the aftermath."
