Lindsay Lohan announces she's expecting her first child

The actor has posted some very big news to Instagram

Lindsay Lohan has taken to Instagram to announce that she is pregnant with her first child with husband Bader Shammas.

The star posted a picture of some baby clothes covered with the words 'coming soon' and accompanied by the caption: "We are blessed and excited!"

Lohan's post was met with a huge wave of congratulations from fellow celebrities and all manner of well-wishers who were excited at the happy news.

Many simply said the word 'congratulations', while others added an excited 'omg' (or the even more enthusiastic 'omgggg') to show just how stoked they were to hear this news.

One Lohan superfan summed the mood up by commenting: "YAYYYYYY SO SO SO SO HAPPY FOR YOU MY BEAUTIFUL @lindsaylohan SENDING MY LOVE AND BLESSINGS."

The actor revealed the news today (14 March).

Lohan announced that she had married Shammas last year after calling him her husband in a social media post.

She initially shot to fame as a child star in the 90s and made her movie debut in The Parent Trap, but it was her films to follow that really catapulted her to stardom.

Lohan would go on to star alongside recent Oscar-winner Jamie Lee Curtis in 2003's Freaky Friday, and apparently a sequel is 'going to happen' so you'd best keep tabs on that front.

Curtis said there were 'good talks' going on around a follow-up and added that there was 'nothing I would love more' than to get the chance to work with Lohan again.

Another of her most iconic movies followed the year afterwards with Mean Girls, which is still getting referenced to in Lohan's more recent work.

While every year there continues to be an October 3rd, we're sorry to say that nobody has successfully managed to make 'fetch' happen yet.

Lindsay Lohan and husband Bader Shammas will be spending next Christmas as new parents.

Speaking of Lindsay Lohan, apparently we've been saying her name wrong all this time as the star herself announced that she'd joined TikTok with a video correcting people on the right way to say her surname.

Some fans of the actor are getting freaked out that a star who was a major figure in their childhoods has grown up, and is actually now the same age that Kevin's mother in Home Alone was.

While there was no indication of how soon Lohan and Shammas can expect the pitter patter of tiny feet, it'll be sometime this year that they welcome their first child into their growing family.
