Lauren Goodger and her partner Charles Drury have thanked the public for their outpouring of support and condolences following the death of their newborn daughter Lorena.

The former The Only Way is Essex star confirmed her tragic loss in an Instagram post on Sunday, 10 July, explaining Lorena died two days after her arrival.

Lauren, 35, said her pregnancy and labour had no complications.

A spokesperson for Lauren has responded to the public on her behalf and said both Lauren and Charles are ‘overwhelmed and touched’ by the messages.

“Lauren and Charles would like to thank everyone for their amazing support at this hard time,” the spokesperson told OK!

“The messages have been so lovely and even though it takes no pain away it really has helped to see how much support there is for them.

“They are completely overwhelmed and touched by the response.”

Lauren and Charles were inundated with supportive messages and comments, including from some of Lauren’s former TOWIE co-stars.

In the Instagram post featuring a picture of her holding her newborn daughter’s hand, she said: “Lorena. 08.07.22. She was the most beautiful healthy baby I’ve ever seen just like her sister… words can’t describe as a mother losing your baby that I carried for all these months perfectly and gave birth too for my angel to be taken from me.

“There was no pregnancy or labour complications and she was fine & healthy but I am not going into detail right now just know that there was nothing wrong with her or myself she was perfect I can’t understand it she is so so beautiful Larose twin so similar..

“I am broken. I am back home from hospital Me & Charlie spent as much time with our baby girl Lorena and I haven’t said my goodbye yet...”

Lauren welcomed her first child, Larose, with Drury in July 2021.

She previously opened up to OK! Magazine about her fears of having two children so close together.

She said: "I was like, 'I'm just getting myself back together – I'm going back to square one. Is this fair?’ You get real mum guilt, like, ‘What about Larose?’

"She's still a baby, she still needs me, I won't be able to be there for her."

Former Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson commented: “I’m so sorry Lauren my heart is breaking for you”.

"Awww Lauren, I'm honestly so heartbroken for you... sending you all so much love," wrote Vicki Pattison.

"So so sorry," added Love Island’s Maura Higgins. "Sending all the love and strength."
