Lana Del Rey promotes new album with just one billboard and put it in her ex's hometown

Lana Del Rey promotes new album with just one billboard and put it in her ex's hometown

'It's personal'

Most people who've gone through a bad break-up tend to try and forget about their ex and move on with their lives.

I mean, if you're particularly hurt, you might go as far as posting a couple of cryptic digs aimed at them on Twitter.

However, if you're a global megastar with millions of fans around the world, your pettiness can afford to be a little grander.

Take Lana Del Rey, for example.

The singer recently announced that she was released some new music, with another album on the way.

But rather than going big on the advertising, as you might expect, the 37-year-old decided to go small.

Lana Del Ray has taken pettiness to a whole other level.

Lana put up just one billboard to promote her new music. One.

And it just so happened that it was put up in her ex-boyfriend's hometown.

In a post to her private Instagram account, the songwriter was seen paying a visit to the billboard.

Sitting in her car, you can see the poster for Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd in the background.

Captioning the post, Lana wrote: "There’s only one and it’s in Tulsa."

Clarifying her motivations for the location of the billboard in the comments, the 'Video Games' singer added: "It's personal."

Ouch.

Like they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

And when that woman happens to be a multi-millionaire popstar, you've really got a problem on your hands.

'It's personal'.

The singer's fans were quick to praise her for the brazen stunt.

"Aspired to be successful just so I can be this petty," wrote one.

While another tweeted: "She sets the pettiness bar higher and it is my duty to achieve."

And if that wasn't enough, Lana wasn't content with just the billboard either.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted that the release date of the album's title track - 7 December - also coincided with ex Sean Larkin's birthday.

Now, I mean, that's just cold.
