Jamie Lynn Spears Reacts To Britney's Pregnancy Announcement

Britney Spears announced she is pregnant with her third child this week.

Jamie Lynn Spears has reacted to Britney Spears' baby news.

The Oops!... I Did It Again singer, 40, announced she is pregnant with her third child on Instagram this week.

Britney explained that she discovered she's expecting after noticing she had gained weight during a trip to Maui with her fiancé, Sam Asghari, 28, who she calls her "husband".

“I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back," she said, after writing that Sam suggested she was "food pregnant".

Britney added: "So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby."

The post has racked up more than two million likes since it was posted on Monday evening and one of the likes happens to be from Britney's famous sister, Jamie Lynn, 31.

The former Zoey 101 star appeared to show support for her sister by double-tapping the post amid their public feud stemming from Britney's conservatorship testimony in court and Jamie Lynn's memoir.

Britney publicly called out her family during her virtual court appearance to end her conservatorship in June last year.

The pop superstar criticised the people “closest” to her for not speaking up for her and directly mentioned her sister in a scathing Instagram post the following month.

Britney captioned the post: “I don't like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes!!!!!”

Jamie Lynn surprised the crowd at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards with a performance of Till The World Ends to honour Britney’s icon award.

“My so-called support system hurt me deeply,” Britney added in her post. "This conservatorship killed my dreams...so all I have is hope and hope is the only thing in this world that is very hard to kill...yet people still try!!!!

“There's nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support”.

The post has now been deleted or archived.

Britney’s court-ordered conservatorship was terminated after 13 years in November 2021. Jamie Lynn released a memoir two months later, Things I Should Have Said, and the Sweet Magnolias star promoted the new release with an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America.

The interview appears to have caused an even greater divide between the sisters after Jamie Lynn said she was not focused on Britney’s conservatorship at the time because she was “a 17-year-old about to have a baby” and claimed she “didn’t understand” the legal agreement.

Britney sent her sister a cease and desist over the memoir and reacted to the interview on Instagram.

“My sister said was how my behaviour was out of control," Britney wrote. "She was never around me much 15 years ago at that time …. So why are they even talking about that unless she wants to sell a book at my expense ???"

Jamie Lynn is already an aunt to Britney’s sons Sean Preston, 16 and Jayden James, 15, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
