How long couples actually spend in the pods on Netflix's Love is Blind

If you've ever wondered how long contestants are in the Love is Blind pods, prepare to be shocked.

If you've ever wondered how long contestants spend in the Love Is Blind pods, prepare to be shocked.

Our favourite, chaotic reality series is back for a third season and time seems to have flown by.

Honestly, we are still reeling from the reunion, when we found out that the only person engaged was Shaina, and to a completely different guy to the one she met on the show.

Still, she seems happy and that's all that matters.

But, as we get ready to watch a new round of romantics enter the pods, we had some burning questions, like how long do they spend in there? How are the dates arranged? And is it even real?

Well, the cast of the previous two seasons spoke to Refinery 29 about what happened.

Cameron Hamilton, who married Lauren Speed and became one half of our favourite couple ever to have come out of the show, said: "The dates were organised for us and we would rate at the end of the day who we liked the most and the least. [The producers] would then use those rankings to figure out dates for the subsequent days. As the days went on, the length of the dates went longer but the number of people you saw got shorter."

Die-hard Love Is Blind fans will surely remember how much of a fan-favourite Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton were in the first season.

And that actually makes a lot of sense, seeing as the episodes in the pods only account for a small number of the series' episodes.

Most of the action takes place after the couples get engaged and find out more about each other in the run-up to their wedding.

And if you thought the couples meeting in the pod didn't give them enough time to really get to know each other, you'd be wrong, as Lauren explained: "There would be times where we would be talking for three or four hours and we would still keep talking and [a producer] would be like, ‘Okay guys, that's it.

Love Is Blind season three is already on the streaming service.

"'That's enough time'. And we're like, Noooo! Even though it's been four hours, we need more time!"

All of this is starting to make way more sense. But if you're still wondering exactly how much time they spent in the pods altogether, or if three or four-hour dates were typical, here's the answer.

The couples spend a total of 10 days in the pods - yep, 10!

They start with 15-minute dates, and then when they learn who they like, the dates can last between three and four hours, like they did for Cameron and Lauren.

Here's hoping the new series sees some happy couples come together.
