Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady announce divorce after 13 years of marriage

Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady have made the announcement that 13 years of marriage is ending in divorce.

Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady are getting a divorce, bringing an end to 13 years of marriage.

The former couple separately made announcements about the end of their relationship, describing the split as 'amicable'.

They both took to Instagram to share statements confirming the end of their marriage, though both stressed they would always be there for their children.

Bundchen and Brady have two children together, son Benjamin Rein was born in 2009 in the same year they tied the knot and daughter Vivian Lake was born three years later in 2012.

Bundchen, a Brazilian fashion model who once dated Leonardo DiCaprio, said of her husband of 13 years that she felt 'blessed' for the time they spent together and wished him all the best.

She wrote: "With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalized our divorce.

"My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care and attention they greatly deserve.

"The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always."

American football legend Tom Brady said he and Bundchen 'arrived at this decision amicably' and said they both had 'gratitude for the time we spent together'.

He said their divorce had been 'finalized' in 'recent days', saying they would now separately 'navigate what is to come in the days and weeks ahead'.

He wrote: "We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.

"We arrived at this decision to end our marriage after much consideration. Doing so is, of course, painful and difficult, like it is for so many other people who go through the same thing every day around the world.

"However, we wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written."

Both Bundchen and Brady have asked for privacy and respect during this difficult time for their family and offered thanks to those who wish them well in the future.
