Donatella Versace Rips Off Dua Lipa's Skirt On Stage At The Grammys

Donatella Versace Rips Off Dua Lipa's Skirt On Stage At The Grammys

Dua and Meg were recreating an iconic VMAs moment.

After last week's Oscars drama, it was going to get something pretty special to turn people's attention to the Grammys but luckily Donatella Versace was on hand to provide an iconic moment when she ripped off Dua Lipa's gown on stage.

Watch the moment here:

Chrissy Teigen, who was front and centre for the awards ceremony with her husband John Legend, captured the moment on camera for her followers.

Dua, 26, had been presenting the award for Best New Artist alongside Megan Thee Stallion, 27, when the pair decided to recreate Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston's legendary 1998 VMAs moment.

Originally, Mariah and Whitney suffered a fashion 'faux-pas' on stage when they both wore the 'one of a kind' same brown dress while presenting the award for Best Male Video.

In the memorable moment, the two divas then tore away the skirts of their dresses to reveal that their gowns were unique after all.

Reenacting the moment at Sunday night's Grammys, Megan Thee Stallion jokingly called out Dua Lipa, telling her: "You stole my look!"

Dua replied: "'I was told I had the exclusive. I'm going to have to have a talk with Donatella."

Right on queue, Donatella Versace strutted up onto the stage to patch things up, tearing away both Dua and Megan's skirts to reveal the styles of their dresses.

"Now we both look like winners!" joked Megan, before she and Dua Lipa presented the award for Best New Artist to Olivia Rodrigo.

Reacting to the recreation, fans took to social media to call the moment 'iconic.'

"They did amazing! They're both stunning đŸ”„đŸ™ŒđŸŒ" wrote one fan.

"We love that for them!" commented a second.

"Yes! I know I had seen a moment like this before but couldn’t remember of who 😍 Amazing 👏" raved a third, while a fourth added: "This is so cute."

Meanwhile, designer Vera Wang simply commented a series of clapping emojis in response to the VMAs recreation.

While Dua wasn't nominated for any awards last night, Megan had been nominated for Best Rap Performance for her song Thot Sh*t, though she lost out to rapper Baby Keem on the night.
