Demi Moore celebrates Bruce Willis' birthday as he speaks out for first time since dementia diagnosis

The actor shared a birthday message to her ex-husband following his dementia diagnosis

Demi Moore has offered a heartfelt message to her ex-husband, Bruce Willis, after he spoke out for the time since his dementia diagnosis which was confirmed last month (16 February).

Demi and Bruce ended their marriage of 11 years after officially announcing their divorce in 2000, however the Ghost star still joined in on a birthday celebration for the Die Hard actor.

She took to Instagram to post the sweet tribute video of Bruce who turned 68 on Sunday (19 March).

Check it out:

Bruce's 68th birthday comes just a month after he was diagnosed with Frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

The condition impacts the lobes of the brain behind the forehead with symptoms including personality changes, obsessive behaviour and speaking difficulties common.

The actor's family announced the news in a joint statement with his ex-wife, wife Emma Heming Willis, and five daughters on Instagram and was also shared by the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration on their website.

It explained that the star was initially diagnosed with aphasia - a condition affecting the brain which causes difficulty with language and speech - back in spring of last year which later resulted in the actor retiring from the world of acting altogether.

The statement went on to reveal that his condition had since 'progressed' following the original diagnosis.

The star was also surrounded by Emma, 44 alongside daughters Rumer, 34, Scout, 31 and Tallulah, 29.

Bruce can even be seen joining in on the jubilations, singing the 'hip hip hooray' chant before blowing blew out his birthday candles.

Demi captioned the Instagram reel writing: "Happy birthday, BW!

"So glad we could celebrate you today. Love you and love our family. Thank you to everyone for the love and warm wishes — we all feel them."

"My birthday wish for Bruce is that you continue to keep him in your prayers and highest vibrations because his sensitive Pisces soul will feel it.

"Thank you so much for loving and caring for him too."

And, as anyone can see from Demi's birthday video, it's very clear just how 'loved' Bruce is.
